A guide to Steve Brown commentary.ForeverAddickted said:Brownie: This is one of the first games we've been able to relax.
Yet he's still bloody well moaned today that we've not pressed the Goalkeeper enough
‘Yeah’
’Again’
’Point out how he thinks the team should be playing’

Everything's fine now.1

Can’t wait for him to cup his ears to the fans after beating managerless Northampton1

Hmm.I decided to go to sainsburys rather than listen to the commentary for the first half, and just got back and surprised to see this.Do I put the second half on and we concede 4, or do I go and do something else and we might win??1
-
What a difference playing with a bit of width and the midfield actually managing to pass the ball to each other makes. I think we've all been able to see where the problems are but it's nice to see how big an effect getting those basic things right has.

Well that's ensured we don't beat an unwelcome record. It has taken our 20th game of the season to score 3 in a league match and in our 102 year history there have been just 3 occasions when it took us more games:
2013-14 (21) - 2nd Tier
1987-88 (28) - 1st Tier
2006-07 (28) - 1st Tier

Great half of football. Really enjoyed that. Seeing the academy graduates score is fantastic for the club as well.

You’ll be safe. Northampton are the most hopeless side I’ve seen us play in years. They have no manager and they don’t have anything on the bench to change the game either.CatfordCat said:Hmm.I decided to go to sainsburys rather than listen to the commentary for the first half, and just got back and surprised to see this.Do I put the second half on and we concede 4, or do I go and do something else and we might win??0 -

I said after the last match, that our change in style was positive.
Yes I know that Northampton are dreadful just now, but Jones obviously has got the message that hoofball is a shite idea at long last.
Has anybody else noticed that this is only the second match since his return that Leaburn hasn't looked completely uninterested?
Very positive so far, long may it continue.2 -

Putting the ball on the box, being front footed and trying to actually play football has made us look very confident...
Small at RB until ramsey is back should probably have happened a bit more1 -
Best half of football in a long while. Some really good performances out there.4

What the F!!!
I pop out for 30 minutes at 0-0 and come home to this, what’s going on?0 -
Assuming we go on to win this it would be really, really nice if he could just enjoy it rather than give a hard done by 'told you so' interview after the game. It's not endearing him to prod back every timeAberystwythAddick said:Can’t wait for him to cup his ears to the fans after beating managerless Northampton

I do miss Minto and the gang in CATV

Well, didn't see that performance coming! Keep it up boys.1

Really happy to finally see 45 minutes of us actually playing football we all said this squad was massively under performing hopefully our season starts today !!1

Seems he's still on a 4-year contract at Birmingham. Obviously a victim of their influx of players. Thought he'd get loaned to a better team than Northampton, though maybe they didn't want him going to a rival.fenaddick said:

Assumed Nathan would see this game against an out of form managerless club as an ideal chance to shut up shop, try hold on to 0-0 and maybe even win it in the last ten minutes. (i.e. the same as every week).
First time I've ever seem Doherty pass the ball forwards!1 -

Possibly because he's playing with his mate TC up front, has been given width and not expected to just flick balls on to some lazy git playing alongside him...TellyTubby said:I said after the last match, that our change in style was positive.

Great so far, but the Cobblers really are terrible.Like to see us push on in the second half and not let them back into the game.
