Jones going with Small and TC to pepper the box with crosses for... Godden and Kanu to win in the air.
Nice.
Edit: All jokes aside, I'll take that starting line up, REG is limited going forwards and with no other substitute may as well go with TCampbell to at least be half a winger. Small came out of midweek in credit.
Godden seems to be our only goal scoring forward and Kanu will work his nuts off.
Yep. Finally starts with 2 proper strikers who like the ball on the floor & then sets the team up for crosses 🙄.
Putting a lot on TC to defend AND attack. I know what he IS good at. Let's just hope he doesn't have to defend too much.
Shows how badly things have gone when at the start of the season you'd expect our best starting XI to involve pretty much the entirety of today's bench

Oh joy, we're going back to the Tyreece Campbell wing back experiment again. Has no-one told Nathan that trying that last season almost totally broke the kid?
With the exception of Anderson that’s probably the best team we have available. I use the term “best” extremely loosely!!
There is width there and at least two players in midfield capable of a pass if the ball isn’t flying over them for 90 minutes. Not sure what the alternative is to Anderson though as anyone else is either injured, past it or even worse than he is.
Pretty much as good a spine through the team we could hope for with Jones and Mitchell back, Taylor and Coventry in the middle, and the front two who have looked most like a partnership this season. Good to have Mannion back on the bench too.
Not so good for all the summer signings on the bench and Potts left out entirely.
It's more of a footballing team too without a target man up front and two wing backs who have pace and like to get forward.
Disappointing for Leaburn but he's not in good form. At times I think he tries to do too much on his own and the hold up play hasn't been up to the standard we need from him (or Ahadme).

Don't think Leaburn should be disappointed. He's been useless lately.

See you are full of Christmas cheer.
If we keep a clean sheet and Tyreece gets an assist I'll happily eat humble pie, but so far playing him there largely nullifies his attacking threat and means Mitchell gets dragged wide to cover for his defensive frailties. I'm not going to be positive about something that doesn't work just cos it's Christmas.
Looks like people are adhering to the advice from the preview thread and avoing the match so as not to have their eyes polluted by our crap and to stop them whinging (except on the post match thread).
Well the size of the crowd shows hiw much optimism we have for todays game!. How can Jones manage to alienate so many fans so quickly, and destroy the optimism created over the summer.

That's probably the best striking partnership we have had this year.

It's terrible seeing the young inflict psychological torture on themselves.
HOOF!
