Lucky me. I’ve just been invited to Wrexham!

As some of you may know, I live in the States. Out of the blue I got this today. Sent to me by United Airlines.
Their tentacles are reaching everywhere. Should I go! Oooh, I’m so tempted.
🤣

  • Do you get to choose the dates? April 26th sounds good.

This surely is a wind up.
  • They mention that Wrexham is in Wales but no mention that London is in England.

    Boooooo.

    Bin it off.
  • Don’t forget your half and half scarf, I hear there’s a good deal at the moment in the club shop.

That was a Charlton v Wrexham, you’re going to need a Wrexham v Charlton scarf, I doubt that they will be available.

Just turn it the other way round , voilà
When the game comes, that scarf will be so last year.
  • If you can bid on the Wrexham v Charlton match at the end of the season it’s definitely worth a shot. Not sure I’d do it to watch two teams I don’t support (unless you’ve been sucked in by the Wrexham bandwagon!).

When they say “jet off to London” do they mean fly from Wrexham? Is there even an airport there?
  • How can it be claimed to be ’the oldest international football stadium?'

Wales last played there in 2019. England occasionally play at Newcastle for example. Does that make it an ’international stadium?’ What are the requisites to be called an ’international stadium?'

If a ’national stadium’ is where a national team habitually play their home games, then isn’t an international stadium by définition where two or more national teams play their home games, like if the home nations all played at Wrexham ?

I’m nitpicking rather but I hate this US bullshit language.

It’s a Welsh thing not a US thing. I think the Welsh women’s team have played there more recently and the men probably would have too if it wasn’t for the Nations League
  • The Racecourse Ground has held the most Wales internationals. 95 in total
  • It’s not a Welsh thing ! The only thing the people of north wales hate more than the English is the people of south wales !
  • It was genuine. That’s why I sent it. They really are jumping on the Wrexham bandwagon in the States. Cringeworthy.
People would go for it though. You had to bid on it.
It just seemed ironic to me that I’m Charlton through and through and they sent me this. Haha!
  • Mate I did laugh you have no idea how disappointed the winner would be staying in Wrexham 😂 the funniest thing is having dinner in town in the evening ! The best restaurant there is Pizzahut !!!

Probably not a case of them jumping on the bandwagon, more a case of very good marketing by the club. Wrexham is a sellout every home game so for them to offer this package they must be working with the club for tickets.

We can only dream of being in this position
  • I’m sure that’s what it is. Excellent marketing, which goes with everything excellent going on with that club. A lot more than can be said about us!
  • Is it free?

Please tell us more about Betty Buzz - she sounds like fun

Edit: no, it's a drinks company and a soft one at that. Shame.

Don't think we can compete with a club with a reported £475 million investment - not that we could before it!

Being shirt sponsor probably helps in that regard!
