Calling all British Citizens / Uniting the United Kingdom

Regardless of your political or religious beliefs, you can’t fail to have noticed that the United Kingdom is in a bit of a mess with no signs of things improving any time soon.

Can I ask you to take a look at this, which I suppose is a modified Magna Carta for the 21st century, read what it has to say & sign up if you care about your country. Over 50,000 people have done just that so far & the organisers are hoping to get that number up to 100,000 by Christmas. 

This is the idea behind The Pledge, from one of the originators:-

It lost me at reclaim our Christian Traditions ! Not in my name mate if I had my way all religion should be wiped from the worlds memory bank. Out dated bollox only set up to control the masses through fear and responsible for the vast majority of the worlds issues

Yes, I delved further and the aims are definitely those of the far right.

Who are the organisers you talk of?

What are these Christian traditions?  Are we going back to before the reformation?  Will Christmas be banned again?

As as non-Christian would I have to leave the UK or convert?

How vague is the wording and is it just a stalking horse for far-right populism and Muslim bashing?

Sorry I tried to gather support from people who probably all cheer on England football, rugby, cricket, but don’t actually care about the country.

Mate there is no way I think the country is heading in the right direction and believe me my politics is nowhere near left but this type of drivel isn’t the answer. There people preach fear and intolerance in the name of nationalism appealing to those that are disillusioned and disenfranchised which is a dangerous thing and exactly the kind of thing which destroys countries that you obviously want to protect. Exactly what happened in Germany in the 1930’s

suggest you read his beliefs and policies then, certainly far right, and I am actually a Conservative voter all my life (bar once SDP), so am hardly a left winger. Don't come the old "clearly ...." you raised the topic so should expect to be challenged especially under "Real Democracy" whatever that is.

I’m convinced 99% of people who have discovered the term “Magna Carta” in the past couple of years have absolutely no idea what it refers to. I remember the Covid nutters on social media who were turning up at hospitals invoking their “Magna Carta rights”. 

Oh, and this pledge thing is clearly nonsense.
