It was depressing to hear the Lincoln fan on Charlton Live talking about how they've got quality all over the pitch, including a 'rolls-royce' player in midfield. I wish I felt the same way about our ClogSquad.
Due to our genius hoofball tactics my prediction is based purely on which was the wind is blowing during the game. 3-0 Charlton if it’s blowing towards the Lincoln goal 3-0 Lincoln if it’s blowing towards our goal.
Gillesphey’s player score later on will depending massively on the wind as well. Could be his best game for us or his worse. It’s all in Darragh’s hands
Both teams have almost identical records in their last six matches and lie 17th and 18th in the form guide table winning one drawing two and losing three with minus two goal differences.
Docherty and Berry are available for selection after serving suspensions and Lloyd Jones is now available after his brief return from injury midweek
Your guess is as good as mine as to the line up but here is how I think we’ll line up fitness issues permitting in a 5-3-2. Prediction 1-1 (Godden)
AMB
REG Mitchell Jones Gillesphey Edwards
Docherty Coventry Taylor
Godden Ahadme
subs: Reid, A Campbell, T Campbell.Small, Leaburn or Kanu, Berry, Potts

Christ that looks god awful
Just to be clear that’s not what I would go with but what I THINK NJ could be tempted to go with.

I was always told when the conditions are bad keep the ball on the ground ! I wish I knew how to place those weird bets ( number of corners etc ) as I would imagine they are going to be getting dozens of goal kicks as Gillespies long diagonals go straight out of play

Seriously though, how do we score with that team ? Lump it up to Ahadme and hope he knees in his second goal of the season ?

Yes sorry - I wasn’t being critical of you - just how dreadful our squad is

With difficulty, just more of the same probably as I can’t see NJ changing it up much. He’ll try to stay in the game hoping to score from set pieces, long throw or second balls. Kanu and TC on after an hour for Godden and one other to try and win it if still level.
Hope I’m wrong and we try and play some football on the deck with TC & Kanu starting but I’m not holding my breath. We’ll soon find out!

They haven’t won a league game since October so must be good at hiding that quality.

Any "Rolls Royce" in League 1 is the equivalent of this, let's be honest

What does that make our players... Clapped out Robin Reliants?
I did wonder on Tuesday how Crawley midfielders (you know, the ones who were good on the ball) seemed to have so much room and time to pick up the ball and begin to do something with it. Was our forward press too high leaving too big a gap in front of our defence? Were Crawley good at playing wide to their wing backs and wingers who could then go inside to their midfield? Has the long ball tactic and chasing all the way up and all the way back knackered our guys out over the course of the season? I have no idea to be honest but it did strike me that Crawley had room and time in the middle, more than I wanted them to have.
As ever, I'm hopeful for today and slightly tongue in cheek I'm especially hoping we're no longer close to being a good side and that instead we are a good side. COYR
The wind blowing may help us. Darragh could do us a favour. A fav goal by the opposition in Championship season was home vs Blackburn . Blackburn midfielder playing into the wind sliced a ball skywards (deliberately) from just inside his own half. I think it was Jason P. tussling with the forward as the ball fell from the sky drifting this way and that and the forward took advantage of the uncertainty and got the touch and got away with it from JP. A real cunning use of conditions. Are we able to.... no probably not

Only just realised it's an early ko & I'm having my barnet done.
I've changed 🤯
But Charlton being Charlton I expect a surprise away win.
Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; A.Mitchell, Jones, Gillesphey; T.Campbell, Docherty (c), Taylor, Anderson, Edwards; Kanu, Ahadme
Subs: Edmonds-Green, Laqeretabua, Small, A.Campbell, Berry, Godden, Leaburn
Or perhaps just rusty wheelbarrows
