My concern is that they try and get a fee for Small nowI don’t think we should but ultimately it’s a business, he’s probably worth a fair chunk imeven with 6 months left.
"I'm leaving it to my agent" smacks of "if somebody comes along with a better offer, I'm out of here"...9 -
To be honest , if we get a decent fee for him I wouldn't be too upset if he went.FishCostaFortune said:Leaburn is the only one I could see potentially going, and wouldn’t be shocked if he did.0 -
It could also translate to... "I'd like to stay... but Charlton need to be in the Championship for that to happen"SteveACS said:

Good job Leaburn has got 1 year and a half left on his contract then - did a lot of people miss his one year extension?AberystwythAddick said:

Afraid not. He was on an original 6 month contract, which we extended last season, so his contract expires the end of this season.CAFC_boi said:

"Theirry Small has admitted he would love to extend his stay at Charlton Athletic with his contract set to expire at the end of the season".
His contract runs our at the end of this season, hence the urgency...0 -
Because he can't realistically be replaced right now. He's got 6 months left on his deal, we'd get at most a few hundred thousand and in return we would lose the pace and width that has completely transformed our season. He and TC are key to our improvement, but he's the most important as he helps us drive the ball up from deeper, which had been one of our main problems up to that point. The amount we would have to spend to get that level of pace and ability to play both attacking and defensively, inverted especially, would be ridiculous. Selling him just to get a bit of cash would be catastrophicAberystwythAddick said:

Some don’t seem to rate him no matter what he does. He showed his potential during that scoring run, where his hold up play was good too. He’s our only striker with a bit of everything to his game, but being young and returning from injury his inconsistent, which can be normal even for very promising young players.fenaddick said:Amazed by the amount of people who would let Leaburn go because he’s had a couple of dodgy games and looked tired

That is the answer that nearly all footballers give when asked that question. I wouldn’t read too much into itSteveACS said:

It's not as if he's only 20 and coming back from a long term injury.....oh, hang on.
He's had good games and bad games
Last season many wrote off TC, now it's ML.13 -
Leaburn is 11 starts into a recovery/ new playing development programme after A YEAR OUT. Progress is rarely if ever s straight line. Intermittent fatigue and inconsistency comes with the territory. Try it sometime.31

I've always said Charlton fans massively over rate Miles.
The player we can least afford to lose today imo is TC.11 -

TC is a good player with a lot of potential, but Leaburn recently scored nearly as many league goals in a month as TC has in his careerbolloxbolder said:I've always said Charlton fans massively over rate Miles.

I don’t even think it’s that. I think ‘some have convinced themselves he has an attitude problem based on very little’ is more accurate.Scoham said:

Also got that nagging feeling that someone decent will be sold.
Hopefully not.0 -
Yep. I know this was a dig at me but its actually fairly true of my thoughts on the signing.Callumcafc said:
Nah he’s actually right you see but instead of inept Premier League loanee, he’s an inept Championship loanee so it’s actually even worse than he said.FishCostaFortune said:

Posted this on the 1st page of this thread.golfaddick said:Don't care anymore. We all know what we need but we wont get them. Will be more moving deckchairs with a couple of players leaving (on loan- no one wants our dross) being replaced with the usual inept PL loanees or players at the twilight of their careers.
Highlight this post & re-visit again in February.
For once.....just for once, I'd like to be wrong and to be eating humble 🥧 at 11pm tonight.
He may be good, he may be average. He might be just what we need.....but his career stats dont scream outstanding ability or quality signing.
And if I had a £1 for every comment posted on here over the past 2 transfer windows about how Coventry is mustard or Docherty is the dogs bollox then I could retire & be sunning myself in the Bahamas.1 -
TC Is a winger with pace and scares the bejesus out of defenders. If we sell him today you can kiss goodbye any chance of making the play offs.NabySarr said:

Is the “it’s too quiet” / “where’s the kick in the balls coming from?” feeling that you get as a Charlton fan?Valley11 said:Also got that nagging feeling that someone decent will be sold.

No I don’t think so as if that was the case I would have been expecting Methven & co to have been leaking the interest.Scoham said:
What are you expecting, one of our better players to be sold?AFKABartram said:Loan in then.
I’ve a gut feel they’ll be another departure today.Day of Cawley watch aheadOnly gut feel, but wouldn’t be surprised with another periphery out, probably on loan. An Ahadme / Edmonds Green / Mitchell3 -
Probably. But we’ve also got young attacking talent. Ideal January transfer window fodder for desperate clubs higher up the pyramid.Callumcafc said:

Think REG will stick around, useful player to have on the bench when he can cover 3 positions. Ahadme feels like the obvious loan out candidate.9
