Poor Mungo Bridge…great name however it looks like going to villa ruined his potential, he’s left villa now and only played 4 games. All the best lad 👍🏻

As nothing is happening on Charlton incomings here's some information:

Mungo Jerry Erogbogbo London Bridge is 24 years old and left Aston Villa in 2022 after failing to break into the 1st team squad. Mungo had a trial at Bristol Rovers but failed to impress. Taken on by Macclesfield but never played a game. He has now returned to Daventry where he had his youth career before joining Villa.

Unfortunately for Mungo it was a bridge to far to have a professional career.
Wait, his penultimate name is literally London?! Poor poor fucker
    I've been whooshed haven't I

Expect one signing.  Name has been mentioned on here (and it’s not De Armas)

outside chance of another but no guarantees. Winger. Bit more of a punt

really not a lot of value in this market right now
    Eddie Yates?

Gilbert is the one they want, and been holding out for all window, it has been down to Boro to get a replacement in, but I think now as we get to the end of the window, the player is pushing.
personally I think would be great signing. It might be a loan to start with, but will look to make perm in summer if they can’t get a perm now!

Hopefully now they've got Whittaker this will happen. Don't think them selling Emmanuel Latte Lath to Atlanta United will affect this.

Seems like Chuks has been very sensible with his property investments so is set for life after football. He may well take a pay as you play contract just to keep playing? Worth it in the right circumstances
We have tired twice to buy out his contract but he turned the club down
Don't you ever get tired of posting rubbish on here.

He knows he will struggle to get a contract like he as at Charlton ever again .. and wants to stay contracted whether he plays or not ….

Fingers crossed - this one feels right for some reason. If it happens and we get a pacy winger as well then i think the window would appear to be a success
We have Dixon tearing up the ressies. That's our pacy winger signing. Getting another one in ahead of him would be ridiculous
seems we've just signed Dixon so we can call games off for international reasons - doesn't seem to be getting a look in on the first team
That is not why they signed him ffs. Why would they sign someone for this reason. This is ridiculous. He's on absolute fire atm, surely close to getting another go

It really wouldn't. Dixon looked a bit lost when he played in the first team, we need someone that can take the load off Campbell and Small now. He might be ready for next season but it's too much of an ask to expect him to perform regularly if one of those gets injured.
Who's to know how he's developed over the last few months? Signs are good
  • 3 months in the gym on a special programme should surely have made a difference to Dixon by now.

I'm not expecting him to be a regular, but will be disappointed if he's not being used as an impact player before the end of the season.

  • Dixon might not be ready but he’s surely deserved a bench place and the odd ten minutes here and there. I’d imagine his confidence and morale must be being affected.

I’m guessing you didn’t watch the cup game he started where he looked way out of his depth in terms of physicality? Why rush a youngster who quite clearly isn’t ready, detrimental to their potential
I’m not sure it’s fair to judge him on that game mate. The style we were playing then was never going to suit him. I have no idea what stage he is at but I do know with his pace I would love to see him getting a few appearances at the back end of games this season

There's no such thing as a pay as you play contract, outside of football forums and footy manager games
I’m sure there is always a base salary involved but then the majority of the payments would come from appearances. I can’t claim to know how it works but it must be possible to some extent
There have been these types of contracts used in the past, whether or not they are a thing anymore I'm not sure. Maybe someone involved in football management can chime in.

Here's an article from a while back demonstrating this with Owen Hargreaves at Man United:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/sport/football/246782/Owen-Hargreaves-on-a-pay-as-you-play-deal/amp
Two weeks after that article was published, Fergie announced Hargreaves wasn't to be offered a contract renewal.

I'm sure pay-as-you-play deals exist much further down the pyramid but they seem to be incredibly rare at pro level.

Holding out all window for a 23 year old that has made 5 starts, 3 in the EFL cup, and 20 substitute appearances? Says everything really.

Saying that, pleased to get someone in to bolster the squad and compete for a position we are desperately short in.
I doubt he’s coming in to be a squad player.
Jones said we will only sign players that make a difference or significant improvement to what we have.
Those stats suggest otherwise if we are after him.

Same mate. I think a lot only get their match fee, plus bonuses (if offered) and expenses.

Though only hopefully in short bursts as a substitute so that he can become used to the pace and physicality in league games rather than by having his confidence damaged by starting and failing like last time.
