  • I’m surprised how many people are home at 10:30 on a Saturday night.

It will be someone with charisma and charm with a deep knowledge and contacts within the football world.
None other than our very own Paul May.
  • Whoever they choose, it should be someone young enough to do it for another 20/25 years.

My outside choice would be Darren Bent, he speaks eloquently enough when he's been a pundit before, is a pretty inoffensive person, and he's only 40 so can do it for ages if he so chooses
  • Does it even need a host?

I remember the episode when there was that fuss with Lineker and as a result of the fall out, Shearer and Wright refused to go on that week. The episode had no commentary or pundits, just 20-25 minutes of the match highlights and it was absolutely fine.
Was it though? Was it really 'absolutely fine'?

All about opinions of course, but my recollection was that we had a load of right wing (political) commentators and journos, most of whom has shown zero previous interest in football, pushing their anti-beeb agenda afterwards by pretending it was an amazing improvement.

The reality was it was rubbish.
I fast forward through the the analysis anyways, so I could live without a host & pundits. Would miss commentary though.

Eni Aluko presenter, Joey Barton and Jeremy Vine as guests.
  • It’ll be Alex Scott I’d imagine.
Given her impact on the success or otherwise of Football Focus, I would be amazed.

If we go out early 1-2pm we are usually home by then...if not it's shown at 7.30 the next morning.
  • I'll be surprised if its not Alex Scott... Bet Jermaine Jenas wishes he'd let his big head do the thinking before sending that text now

It's the BBC, so i'd expect to see a mixed race (all the races) 14-foot trans dwarf-quadriplegic who identifies as a fridge magnet.
    Currently 14/1 on odds checker.
Just ahead of Curbs at 15/1

Justin Welby, expert knowledge of crosses.
Lineker can take over as Archbishop of Canterbury
  • Alex Scott  she was a world class footballer and represented her country on 140 occasions. She is also a great pundit and presenter too.
