I knew there must’ve  a reason he played so many games for Plymouth’s title winning side a couple of years back. And we’re seeing proof now that he wasn’t just an average player hiding in a team of players better than him.

I dunno. I think NJ takes a lot of credit for getting best out of him. He’s another one that needed his confidence rebuilding but he has also been coached into a better player. The back 3 were all great today, as they are most weeks. It’s such a wel balanced unit and doesn’t really seem to have any significant weaknesses - pace, movement, brute force, aerial bombardments, all three of the can handle all of those things.

Mmm, not sure they can cope with searing pace tbf but are all pretty quick

A lovely long PASS to his CB partner Lloyd Jones who brought it down fairly well but a sweeper keeper would've got their first but fortunately the stand in keeper stood still and the assist from Jones found it's way to Golden Godden.

Since that error vs Blackpool, he has been unreal.

Maybe its a right of passage for Charlton Centre-Backs, seeing that Lloyd Jones has pretty much been the same.

Would anyone else like to buy a "Gillesphey's Diagonal Punt" t-shirt or is it just me?

He was class today. Not just for his free kick, but his defending on Agyei was fantastic. What a turnaround from him. So happy for him.

Never seen a bigger improvement of a football like this. Fucking hold my hands up after slating him. Nathan Jones has made him into a player.

Joins the weirdly specific honour roll with Purrington and Sarr (sort of) of left-sided defenders scoring in Playoff finals.

Also moves to 6 goals and 3 assists, going ahead of Sarr's 3 goals and 5 assists as our most prolific centre back. Considering what a solid and defensively-minded team we are that's an absolutely incredible return from him. Top lad

Said to the old boy and my daughter Gillesphey the three is shooting from this. At the time both Gilbert and Gilly were stood over the ball and I just knew it'd be a shot.

Expected it to be drilled under the wall. Was happy either way.
