Iwelumo

edited August 2007 in General Charlton
People seem to be going over the top in their criticism of this guy. OK, I did not see him last night, but I did see him on Saturday and I thought he looked OK. Won everything in the air when that was what was asked of him.

The lad has played two brief games as a sub - how can anyone write him off after that???

  • agreed
  • I not seen any of him due to Holidays but it deffo seems to me to be a bit over the top slating any player ofter two brief appearances for a team. Certainly seems like people arent giving him a chance.
  • I still think he's going to be an important player for us this year. I was impressed with him pre-season at Gillingham and at home last year.

I think people don't like him because we have got used to midgets who like to do everything on the deck. Big Chris plays his football from waist upwards
  • Agreed.

Far too early to write him off. In fact I would venture to suggest that it is not Iwelumo looking bad but Marcus looking good so Big Chris is suffering by comparison.

There has been an element of that with Toddy too.
  • annoyes me people seem to be to eager to get on our players backs,

the bloke behaind me saturday was digging out toddy after 5 mins.

big chris seems proud to have joined us give him a go ffs
  • Agreed r & c.

Big Chris said he was EXCITED to be joining Charlton and couldn't believe he was part of the set up here.

After recent season's apathetic PrimaDonna's, surely it's refreshing to sign a player who is genuinely excited to be joining us?

I definitely will be giving him a chance.
  • Agreed - but there have only been one or two knockers (ooerr) really, but he is probably going to play mainly as sub and when others are injured.
  • And he knows how to score in the CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC.
  • It's just easier for some people to critisize rather than praise. I'll be pleased for the big man when he knocks in his first winner for us in front of the North Stand. Hungry committed players are ALWAYS welcome at Charlton.

Hungry, committed...sounds like Shefki Kuqui! We can drop him round later if you like? I did forget to mention his other quality...he's fecking useless! :-(

Hello SOS. Saturday's score reflect the game?

LOL Sco..... I'm sure i did not write that!

To be honest it did not as Southampton were not worth a goal, and they were truly shambolic at the back....still what do I care we had a great day out.
