MATCH THREAD : Barnsley V Charlton Athletic : Tuesday 22nd October 2024 : KO 19:45

So, tonight it's a trip up north to Oakwell and a midweek match at Barnsley, so the archetypal cold Tuesday night match, and hats off to all those travelling Addicks who have no doubt made the long trip up for what will be another tricky encounter, and one we should be more than capable of at least coming home with a point on the board, whilst 🤞 all three...
Two players we are pretty sure will be missing and missed a lot are Jones and Ramsay, also out are Gas (chest injury) and Chuks (minor groin)...but we should welcome back Coventry, which will be good,

We've met on 56 previous occasions winning 22, the Tykes 18 and the remaining 16 encounters ending all square, we ran out 2-1 victors at The Valley when the teams last met thanks to Alfie May's brace...

So, here we go...

Miles Leaburn will make his first start of the season in tonight’s fixture against Barnsley at Oakwell.

Greg Docherty and Tyreece Campbell revert to the bench, while Kayne Ramsay is absent having been forced off with a knee injury on Saturday.

Nathan Jones will not be on the touchline in south Yorkshire after accumulating three yellow cards.

Should the Addicks continue in the same formation, Edmonds-Green will join Alex Mitchell, Macaulay Gillesphey and Josh Edwards in Jones’ back four ahead of goalkeeper Will Mannion.

Conor Coventry, who returns following a one-game suspension, will operate alongside Terry Taylor, Karoy Anderson and Allan Campbell in midfield, behind a front two of Leaburn and captain Matty Godden.

Docherty and Tyreece Campbell are joined on the bench by Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Tennai Watson, Thierry Small, Luke Berry and Kaheim Dixon.

Charlton: Mannion; Edmonds-Green, A.Mitchell, Gillesphey, Edwards; Coventry, Taylor, Anderson, A.Campbell; Leaburn, Godden (c)

Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Watson, Small, Docherty, Berry, T.Campbell, Dixon
