  • Two teams in poor form, exact same goal difference and one point separates us, can see this being another draw.

I think we lack too much up front to win a tough away game like this, but we're also fairly steady, smart money is the draw I'd say.

Poor numbers attending. Will be less than 400 on the night. I hope people on social media who mock other clubs supports and harp on about our sell out at ManU will be there.
With no train back it makes an unappealing game even less appealing. I'm staying over in Sheffield as I couldn't face the coach back. The 350 of us are gonna look very sparce in such a huge away end.

Nonetheless I am very much looking forward to it. See you there.
Even so, I expect us to be taking more. It ain't cheap or easy, but you'd expect our numbers to overcome that.

And yeah, it's gonna look right scattered. See you there mate, safe journey 👍🏻
  • Barnsley has always felt like our number one bogey side for some reason (without looking at the stats).
Midweek at Oakwell immediately feels like a 2-0 loss, particularly after the powderpuff last away outing in Bristol - but hoping we get at least a point.
  • TEAM NEWS

The Addicks are set to be without Kayne Ramsay (knee), Lloyd Jones (leg), Gassan Ahadme (chest) and Chuks Aneke (groin) for Tuesday's trip to Oakwell.

1 win in 10 at Oakwell
  • Barnsley have failed to win any of their last three league games against Charlton Athletic (D1 L2) and will look to avoid going winless in four for the first time since August 1994.

Charlton Athletic have failed to win any of their last five away league games against Barnsley (D3 L2), since recording a 6-0 victory over the Tykes at Oakwell in April 2013.

Seven of Barnsley’s last 11 league games at Oakwell have ended in a draw (W1 L3), with both sides scoring in each of the last seven such games (11 for, 11 against).

Charlton have lost four of their last six away league games (W2), including each of the previous two; they haven’t lost three in a row on the road since March 2022 (run of four).

For some reason not included him in the official article. He is however in a boot and is 100% unavailable.
  • Midweek Barnsley away and they are due a home win. With our injuries piling up and still a lot to do to show we are a top 6 side. 2-0 to Barnsley.
  • This has got goals written all over it, will probably be a 0-0.

Barnsley’s home form is very average - form away from home is what’s keeping them in the picture in at the minute.

Their home results stretching back to March: DLDLDDLDWDD
  • I imagine we will play the same system as the last 2 games? Dont think there is a need to change something that seems to be working but you never know in football! Hopefully Leaburn can start.

Think we will nick a win tonight. 0-1 or 1-2.
  • I'd like to see the 4222 again with Watson A. Mitchell REG Edwards as the back four, Coventry and Taylor holding, Anderson and Docherty advanced and then Godden and Leaburn up front. If Leaburn can't start then it will have to be TC but I'd rather he came on to cause issues with his pace. I don't like Gillesphey in a 4 and Watson is a good attacking fullback. You need that forward running and width from your full backs in a box midfield and while REG can do it I'd rather he was in the defence with Mitchell.

  • 2-0 home win
  • I see Micah M'Bick isn't playing for the under 21s at Millwall so likely to be on the bench. Neither is Dixon so probably in Yorkshire too.
  • Just got an alert to say my train back to Manchester is cancelled so I’m gunna have to get a taxi back from Sheffield. If we don’t win, I’ll kill someone.

I'd ask around & see if you can get a lift back.

I’m not sure about your assertion on Watson.  REG for me , with the Mitchells in the middle

Those that are going should be applauded but don't really see a need to have a dig at those who aren't. We took 500 to Barnsley on a Saturday a couple of seasons ago so 400 isn't a bad number by any means when you factor in that it's also on tv.
  • Quite easy really. Start Leaburn & we'll win. Start with on the bench & we'll lose. Unfortunately the fitness boys dont want to start him.

    2-0 to the Tykes.

Think this is closest but doubt TT can start and NJ likes 3 forwards on the bench so I'm going with

    Mannion
    Edmonds-Green A Mitchell Gillesphey Edwards
    Docherty Coventry
    A Campbell Anderson
    Godden Leaburn

    Maynard-Brewer Z.Mitchell Small Berry Mbick T.Campbell Dixon
