11:30am for Wealdstone v Wycombe is ridiculous5

Especially as it doesnt clash with any Premier League games, if its at 12:30fenaddick said:11:30am for Wealdstone v Wycombe is ridiculous0 -
Which is exactly what we areAthletico Charlton said:Looked on their fan forum. They are generally of the view it is a winnable but unexciting game given their results v other L1 teams. One poster seemed to think we would bring 2,000 fans with us - the others put him straight!
Another watched the highlights of our Southend game and has declared us a long ball team they will be able to cope with fine.3 -
Surprised at the Reading game especially. Could understand it if they were away. And AFC Wimbledon v Dagenham is a surprise too. With Walsall’s recent record and going well in League Two and us away and pretty poor in the FA Cup I’m surprised we are not on somewhere.0

Non league teams (even away) are much more of a draw for the neutral than a lg2 v lg1 clash.LargeAddick said:Surprised at the Reading game especially. Could understand it if they were away. Fucking Solihull v Bromley , now that is a proper piss take

Repeat of the National League Play-Off Final from a couple of months ago, can see why it was chosen.northstandsteve said:Fucking Solihull v Bromley , now that is a proper piss take0 -
They also met in the Vase/Trophy final.1

For our regular away supporters a Saturday 3pm kick off would be most welcome
Wont be on the tv or any streams though if the First Round coverage is anything to go by2 -

Wimbledon v Daggers is a District Line Derby so good planning for once for an evening kick off.LargeAddick said:Surprised at the Reading game especially. Could understand it if they were away. With Walsall’s recent record and going well in League Two and us away and pretty poor in the FA Cup I’m surprised we are not on somewhere. Our three strikers scoring at Southend and Leaburn’s return with 3 goals in 2 games probably put the nail in the Walsall game. The chances of an early goal by Charlton probably went up and as soon as that happens the FA cup magic bubble bursts and viewers will switch over to another channel.0 -
Wouldn’t surprise me if we were the ESPN pick for live coverage (as per the Rovers v WSM game)shirty5 said:For our regular away supporters a Saturday 3pm kick off would be most welcome

Pretty slim pickings with the rest of the draw2 -
very difficult game at a club doing very well in L2 .. we'll see if Jones & Co take this seriously by the team selected .. i m o a good cup run would do us all a world of good2

Walsall are a very good team at the moment. And they'll look at our porous defence/midfield, and see the chance of scoring against us.letthegoodtimesroll said:

Not "romantic" like the games involving non league sides, but I can see this being a good game for the neutral.1 -
Following the fantastic performance and electric atmosphere at our first round match against Bolton Wanderers, prices have been FROZEN for the second round and will remain at £10 Adults, £5 Concessions and just £1 for Under 12s.

11:30am kick off is horrific, that should be nipped in the bud before it becomes something broadcasters try to do more regularly.ForeverAddickted said:

Last time for the League Cup game I went on the coach. Back in the day it was hitchhiking would you believe.
Does anybody know the practicalities of getting the train there and back?0 -
Bescot Stadium station is outside the stadium. Trains to Birmingham New Street.seth plum said:Last time for the League Cup game I went on the coach. Back in the day it was hitchhiking would you believe.

Very straightforward, train from Euston to Birmingham New St, then train to Bescot Stadium Station or Marylebone to Birmingham Moor St then 5 minute walk to Birmingham New St & train to Bescot Stadium Station.seth plum said:Last time for the League Cup game I went on the coach. Trains are nicer from Marylebone and you don't have to go through the awful experience of Euston1

Hardly worlds apart. I remember a few a few years back, we drew Halifax and it was moved to 1230 on Sunday.northstandsteve said:Fucking Solihull v Bromley , now that is a proper piss take1 -
They don't want the Raider tanked up and out of control. Police are scared...ForeverAddickted said:

Late sixties, at least, Charlton would kick off at 11am (if memory serves me well) on bank holiday home fixturesse9addick said:

Bubbles now driving us to Walsall for this game along with Johny Welsh.Solidgone said:
I went to the first match at Walsall and it certainly did kick off. Not seen Bubbles for many years now. I hope he is keeping well.blackpool72 said:
I was on that coach and it was certainly a memorable day.Oggy Red said:
I was there too that day, at Fellows Park, Walsall's old ground. Went on the Bubbles away coach.letthegoodtimesroll said:
Walsall ‘Life’ ??? I remember going there in the mid-70s. We arrived around 12ish and for the next 2 hours before kick off kept thinking it was Sunday because the pub and streets were empty and quiet apart from us. Kicked off in the ground though, and not just the game.SantaClaus said:I bet Walsall Life are similarly unimpressed.
Hell, did it kick off during the 2nd half - not so much the team, who of course chucked away a H-T lead in time honoured fashion, but the fighting on the terraces. Bricks being thrown and blades brandished, it was war and some fans of both sides were getting badly hurt.
I've been to most grounds in my time and watched a lot of football, but I'd never been in the midst of such violence before.
Despite equalising, we typically lost to a last minute winner
It's funny how you remember some games from 50 years ago, but more recent games are just a blur.
Speaking of Bubbles he's just called in my house for a coffee.
It's his 70th birthday in a couple of weeks.
How time flies.
I can't believe the same old faces are still going together 50 years after the game we were discussing earlier.2 -

Harrogate Town v. Gainsborough Trinity (Live on BBC Two)
Will viewing figures even reach 5 figures for that?0 -
Third round matches will take place the weekend of January 11th.
If we lose to Walsall on Saturday, we would be guaranteed to be playing our league match against Bolton on that date since Walsall also defeated Bolton in the first round.
If we beat Walsall, the Bolton away game would be rearranged to a midweek later in the season.2 -
Course it will. Reality TV and all the other nonsense on the box these days proves that people really will watch any old shit that’s broadcast.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Friday 29 November – 19:45 GMT

If I were a neutral fan, I’d watch Harrogate v Gainsborough ahead of Walsall v Charlton. It’s just a much more interesting tie.JaShea99 said:
