  • Big win that, 2 home games next, Burton and Lincoln. Onwards.
  • Steve Bruce has introduced a formula which is working - a gameplan making Blackpool a team difficult to break down, plus capable of scoring goals.

    Are you watching, NJ?  :)

Based on your last 2 games I'd definitely say you'll be challenging for the play offs, but it's a long season and it's only 2 games.

Steve Bruce coming in has changed the whole dynamic of the team.
After a disappointing start, your Blackpool look like emerging as a genuine contender in the promotion race.

Looking good but Birmingham and Hollywood will romp it

Deliberately not posted on the game at The Valley,  great result,  best away day of the season.
  • Huddersfield have lost five of their last six in all comps.

The one they didn’t lose was a 4-0 win at Bolton.

    Bizarre stretch for them.

Hopefully he kicks on now he’s a couple of years older. He had a knack of looking brilliant for us in two or three weeks bursts and then going missing again but some of that was to be expected as he was finding his feet at senior level
  • Alfie is slimmer, quicker & much more mobile, as well as looking a better player than at Charlton.
A word of caution though. Every season he had a run of a few games where he looked really good and we thought he'd finally made "a breakthrough".
But every time he reverted to being not very good soon after.
A very frustrating player at Charlton.
  • Which game was it where he nearly hit the top of the Jimmy Seed stand with a shot?

About 40% of them, 5% he'd get on target, and the other 55% he was warming the bench instead

Yes I noticed that and a touch of class not to gloat. However, I was looking forwards to your perspective of the match.
  • watched bits of this and Blackpool looked very good, Brucey's management is bringing points AND (all together now) points mean prizes
I've said it a MILLION times (no exaggeration) there are NO easy games in L1 .. Huddersfield after a good start have gone into reverse very quickly
Stevenage where we go on Saturday, had a hard fought 0-0 at Wigan, so we'll have another steep bridge to cross this weekend I reckon
  • Well played Blackpool. Was impressed with their first half performance against us on Saturday. Ones to watch

    As you asked.
I felt you struggled with the way we set up. Buzzing midfield, 2 wide men and 2 forwards who ran their backsides off. First half was very similar to last night, I felt we dominated and were then worth the 2 goal lead. You came back into it in the 2nd when we tired a bit but your game was to hoof it up to the big fella up front instead of trying to play through us.
Your goal was an error by our young keeper and led to a nervy last few minutes.
As for the "play acting", I did feel there were some genuine knocks but also we did delay the game a fair bit. That led to the 12 mins added time. Its part of the game know (the Exeter goalie the other week actually sat on the ball !). Bruce has got us managing the game much better again like last nights match. Its looking very promising right now
Charlton is always a top day out. Easy journey in from Kent, good pubs (Pelton and then The George at Blackheath) and friendly fans.
    All the best Addicks.
Interesting to hear that you identified a lot of the same issues that we have. Glad you had a good day out, hopefully we have one in the return leg!

The way some players went down and were injured on Saturday, I was amazed that only one player couldn't make the starting lineup v Huddersfield, 3 days on. Nothing like deep heat, hey.

Gripe aside, 'Pool are passing and moving pretty neatly atm.
