  • They've waltzed through our one paced midfield all game. This needs to be the last time we see Coventry, Docherty and Campbell playing in a 3 together.
  • Absolutely appalling , in every respect. No quality on entire pitch, zero tactics by the looks, Blackpool with acres of space against our supposedly solid defence, nothing attacking, constant hoofs towards our rwb to win headers… and abysmal man management from Jones hauling an annoyed Small off and turning his back on him when he returned to the dugout rather than acknowledging him.

  • Absolute dog shit first half, be shocked if we get anything from this.
  • Kanu suddenly can’t trap a bag of cement. Midfield anonymous. It’s been so poor all round.

I have to say, based on the performance so far this season, I’ve felt a game like this has been coming more so than it suddenly clicking and us looking like a fluid attacking force. There is just a fundamental lack of quality on the ball throughout the team. TC has livened us a tiny bit, Coventry has kept the ball at least but with mostly sideways and backwards passes, Ramsay looks like he can at least control the ball but no end product - other than those three it’s been all heavy touches and mishit passes. We’re a very workmanlike team.

Jones is going to go nuts. Looks ready for a fight coming off there
He needs to take some responsibility for this himself tbf
  • HT. WELL.

Shite. Awful own goal from Ahadme, yeah you can see what he wanted to do but crazy putting it towards your own goal. Easy goal for Morgan, defence has been bad, was happy to see REG but he hasnt covered himself in glory much.

Campbell and Doc. Nothing, just nothing.

The change to 433 did at least, see us start playing in a clear way, would stick with it for the second half.  Need to get the midfield sorted as Coventry is the only one out there and its just far too easy for pool to carve through us.
  • This shows that NJs system is flawed. 2-0 down on 30 mins and he pulls off a young player who wasn't really the issue (their goals both came from play down our right hand side) to bring on a winger, but then there's no other winger in the entire squad to play on the opposite side.

Kanu, REG, Gillesphey all having very poor games. The rest haven't been much better, but those 3 have stood out for me
  • Absolute shite. Defence a shambles. Not surprised Small was replaced. REG just isn't good enough, nor Gillesphey. Missing Mitchell big time. Docherty offers nothing, seen very little from him this season to suggest he's the answer. Campbell not in the game at all. Midfield lacks any creativity and there is none coming from the full backs.

I've been in the it's ok we can grind out enough wins even if we will lack goals but that is a bang average mid table team out there at the moment.
  • Allan Campbell is proper shite

  • Utter shite - one of the worst midfields I've seen - haven't won a single tackle in midfield and defence all over the place - formation is crap and we don't know how to use the wing backs going forward - zero creativity and our first shot came in 42nd minute.

Have refrained from posting on the match threads to avoid being called negative since we've managed to grind out the results so far but it's been awful to watch all season.

Now change it up and prove me wrong in the second half Jones.
  • One or two people pretty critical last week of anyone who had the temerity to say we may have won but generally it was a pretty crap performance. Doesn't matter how we played, we won blah blah blah.

Well that first half proves that performance does matter. And all you can say is that we have been outplayed for most of that half.

Fair play to Jones for changing it early and we have looked a bit better since Campbell came on. But it will need a huge improvement in the second half to come out of this game with anything.
  • I truly don't want to be negative at all, but how many comments at half-time have there been this season about how poor we are? We've been fortunate enough that's it been 0-0 so we can improve, but we've finally been massively caught out here and it's not surprising at all
  • The Ahadme OG - at least the bloke tried to assert something physically and won the header.

More than you can say for the back three today who have all played like mice.
  • That’s the worst I’ve seen us for a long while and there’s not a chance in hell of promotion with this team because we create absolutely nothing .
I Hope Jones rips them a new one at half time but he had to take responsibility for that team he’s picked . Alan Campbell is absolutely lost .
  • My poor brother came down from Manchester for his 60th bday to watch that turgid crap….
  • Alan Campbell, disgrace - shocking
He's over 70 so hardly surprising!

Allan Campbell on the other hand.....
  • A Campbell looked even less interested today than he did on Tuesday. Only Ahadme and T Campbell come out of that half with any credit.

Truly think that's unfair on Gilbey. Really, really disappointed by Docherty. It seems like Millwall fans weren't lying about AC so far.

Potentially highlights that players like Alex Mitchell are out there, doing more than just the job of a Footballer, and when those individuals are missing, we're an unorganised mess

We can't carry so many pedestrian players, it's too easy for the opposition.
  • Think A Campbell has been poor but Anderson would be a nightmare in this game and Berry is out of form. This would have been a good game for Taylor
  • Awful half. Our desperate lack of creativity showing when we need to chase a game.

Good to see we have a plan B formation though, opposition teams know exactly how we line up and our tactics, playing an identical 352 every game. 433 should give us more attacking impetus at least.
  • Alan Campbell has been utterly woeful. Completely off the pace. REG absolutely appalling, his positional sense is shocking. Kanu hopeless, done nothing but mis-control and fall over. No idea why Small came off, should have been REG if Jones wanted to make that change. I am at a loss with Doherty the game just seems to pass him by. Feel sorry for Coventry, he basically playing in midfield on his own. Ahadme will no doubt get pelters, but other than the foul up for the OG he has actually battled away quite well. Something seriously wrong if there are no more changes at HT.

Knows how to get a side promoted tbf. Knew this would be difficult today.
  • Pretty poor first half. No creativity whatsoever. Now it's better with TC we look unbalanced at the back. This could get messy...

Chuks has to come on if only to balance against the big CB. DK was lucky not to get booked early so I would take him off. You can always bring Godden on for Ahadme after an hour or so. Campbell is the wild card we can replace when we have a better idea of how the second half is panning out.

It's not a dead rubber ( they were 4-1 up against Cambridge and didn't win...) but it will be tough to get anything now..

My brother, Small lazily showed their best crosser of the ball onto his stronger foot to put the ball on a sixpence in our penalty area.

He’s not been good this season attacking and if he’s going to start letting the side down defensively as well, he needs some time out of the team.
