This just popped up on my You Tube. Thank you algorithms- you inform me so much. Permaculture/properties for sale in Portugal/ and football and they work out that this would be an interesting watch- and yes. I think it was. I am gradually revising my opinion of Charlie, he comes over well and seems very knowledgeable about the bigger picture (international picture wrt football) and local issues for CAFC. (Dam- he didn't mention the parking!! its all much bigger than that.)
It was recorded just after Pompey friendly which is referenced later in the video.
Put this in General CAFC section as he does discuss CAFC specifics but equally could go in Football category.
Particularly interesting bits for me
1. Womens football- at about 45mins (not exact) gets very outspoken, clear conflict for him between desire to spend on Mens 1st team, whereas paying for fully prof. Women's team drains resources. Maybe he missed out the EDI aspects here-interested to hear what others think.
2. Brand. "Charlton" we brand ourselves as a "family club" but are not more "family" than many other clubs, just bang average (my words). However he sees links to Jamaica/?afro-cariibean heritage of players appealing to our potential fanbase, footballers born and bred in football cages on housing estates (once again my take on what he said)
Enjoy
(before I get taken down or censored in some way)

I am also gradually revising my opinion of Charlie. It seems to me he's learnt a lot from the whole Sunderland experience (and has also been seriously ill since then, which might have changed his overall outlook a bit). The most important thing is, we now see things being delivered that he previously spoke about. The fitness and medical regime, backing the manager (who is in turn a reversal to the manager position rather than "head coach" nonsense)and getting business done early in the window.
I'll definitely give him a listen - even if it's Adrian Goldberg, with whom I had a brush during the Dossier work. Bit of a knob.
