FIFA 24 Charlton Athletic 'Past and Present' Team

A past and present team is a team in FIFA in which all the players play for, or have previously played for, one team. This is the best Charlton team you can put together. When I say card, I just mean the stats for a player 'in-game'.

If you haven't played FIFA before, you might wonder what this all means. Players are rated from 47-99, from Bronze, Silver, Gold and then to Special cards. These special cards are just for fun, the ratings of these don't really mean much. Hence why Josh Cullen is rated the same as John Barnes. I'll run you through the details.

GK: Nick Pope. This is a 'Team of the Group Stage' card for the Champions League
LB: Ian Maatsen. 'Fantasy FC card'. The better they and their club (Borussia Dortmund) play week-in and week-out, the better upgrades they receive in FIFA
LCB: Ezri Konsa
RCB: Joe Gomez 'Road to Glory'. Got upgraded every time Joe Gomez won.
RB: Anfernee Dijksteel. Yes, this is really the best RB/RWB that I could find.

LCM: Conor Gallagher Road to Glory
RCM: Josh Cullen 'FUT Birthday'. On FIFA's birthday each year, they give random players the maximum skill ability, or full ability with their weakfoot

LW: Stephy Mavididi 'Squad Foundations'. Basically a random second-division player gets a little upgrade.
RW: Francis Coquelin 'Road to the Knockouts'. Each win Villarreal got = an upgrade to the card

LST: Ademola Lookman 'FUTTIES' Absolutely random, there was no real reason for this.
RST: John Barnes 'Winter Wildcard Icon'. Some icon cards (retired legends of the game) got a fun upgrade for Christmas.

    Sarmiento got a special card, as did Nathan Byrne who would slot in at right back. I did a couple of the EVOs this season so have a 99 rated Godden and a 95 rated Chem Campbell in my team

    Not sure how I missed Sarmiento. I didn't play FIFA this year, but will probably buy FIFA 25

    I stopped playing FIFA just before the Ultimate Team stuff exploded thankfully. Dread to think how much money I would’ve spent on virtual cards if I was five or ten years younger.

    What’s wrong with a good old career mode save?

    Nothing at all! I was Sean Dyche managing Charlton last year, it was great!

    Having given up striving for perfection on Fifa i will be doing a Leaburn to glory next year that will blend into a Charlton past and present

    least this year we can cram in Farrah Williams as one of the midfielders to make it slightly better side

    Never really got the hype with ultimate team either, I grew up with a career mode so much prefer that.

    I mainly play pro clubs though, it's a good way to speak to your mates regularly when you don't all meet up as often as you'd like.

    A lot of time wasting has gone into this build but pleased to have Evolutionised Leaburn, Godden, Berry, Jones and Ramsay. Leaburn is the best striker in game I have ever used.

    I have an entire squad, use it quite a bit in Rivals.

    I've also updated my club this week so my "stadium" is Wembley, and every game I play in red and set the opposition to Orient's away kit.

    It's the small things.

    Wow, that’s impressive. Yeah using the Evo squad players in Rivals and weekend league gives an edge as I am sure players assume they will be sh*t

    On other places he's listed as 6'.

    Have also seen some places list him as 185cm tall which is closer to 6'1"

    I'm cracking on with a career mode on the latest game tonight, don't think I've played in 6 years. Has anything changed and is it possible to set us up in our fluid 352/4231 we use in reality?
