All these clubs also have ‘ex-pat’ fans working and living in London. Some who can’t get to home games will go to the London games, so not 228 miles for them !!LargeAddick said:

They'll easily sell out. Would expect them to sell out most games to be honest given this is their first season at this level for 20 years, they're a side on the up and selling out every home game as well. Also they haven't played us for over 40 years so it'll be a new ground for most.PragueAddick said:You should see The Athletic. I’m surprised it hasn’t done a deal to be Wrexham’s “media partner”.
btw I was wondering, how many do you think they will bring to the Valley?
They took 3,800 to Bolton last week for a Sunday game live on tv.
Wrexham to Charlton - 228 miles, 4 hours 28 minutes

Wrexham won't have many "legacy" fans in London, as they've been small for years. They'll be new fans attracted by the hype.4
-
It was the same in the National League and in League 2.
When my lot worked with them, the producer in the UK told me the guys in the edit back in LA were demanding that they be provided with footage to tell an underdog story!PragueAddick said:
Jeez! What I wish for them most of all is to have a really bang-average lower-middle table season. Lets see how Hollywood bigs that up!AndyG said:
They will sell out the away end easily !! I’m unfortunately local to Wrexham and have to put up with the hype regularly. Their home game at the weekend obviously sold out and people were selling their tickets for £300 !!LargeAddick said:

I have a friend in Maine, USA. He knows nothing about football. But has been an avid viewer of the Welcome to Wrexham stuff on Netflix. He's just an old hippie who spends his spare time making tie-dye T-shirts but seems fixated by them. I fear that the Wrexham story still has a long way to run before it runs out of steam.5

When we play them rather than Welsh accents, pretty sure we will be hearing a lot of American accents its a lot easier for tourists to get to the Valley than to the Valleys. Unless the club are careful there will be a number in the home areas, easily purchased given the relatively small crowds we have.
I've got no problem with Wrexham and Hollywood. It's not oil money, it's not state ownership, I'm sure many of us wish that Sandgaard had done to us what Hollywood has done for them. Most thought that they would be a whim but they have stuck with it for 3 years. Now comes the test as they are likely to be a mid table team and suffer as many if not more defeats than wins.
In the meantime we have a good board backing our manager and hopefully this will continue, it's still early days and let's not forget Kevin Cash!1 -
Not sure I get the hatred, they have made League 1 more interesting...6
-
Wonder if we'll have Rob and Ryan at the Valley given London is an easy location from the United States
Might even find ourselves on Welcome to Wrexham, if we're fighting with them for promotion / the Play-Offs given how late in the season our trip to the Racecourse is0 -
Hmmmn.
Wrexham, or Manchester City or Chelsea or Newcastle United?
The blokes who took over Wrexham found a team with a degree of uniqueness (Capital of North Wales and all that) but well down on their uppers, so put money in and rebuilt (or are rebuilding) the stadium, and have helped a footballing rise.
They have not parachuted their wealth into established top flight clubs like the oil money people or the rich Russian Abramovich which would’ve been the easy thing to do.
What gets me is how much money there is in Superhero films and internet ‘influencing’ and the like.
If I were a long term loyal Wrexham fan I would be loving it, and not giving a chite about glory hunters.8 -
Anything that creates interest and non-negative news for League One in our promotion season is surely welcome.Redhenry said:Not sure I get the hatred, they have made League 1 more interesting...Also, didn’t watch the Sunderland Netflix series but I did watch the one where they played us at Wembley. I haven’t watched the Disney Wrexham series but I’ll probably watch the ones where they get turned over by the Addicks.2 -
On paper, I don't think they are as good as what they are doing so Parky deserves great credit. I still think they won't be challenging this season.1

If they have a few seasons treading water in mid-table in league one, i'm sure the interest will dwindle.2 -
In a footballing sense the little I have seen of them seems to favour a swashbuckling high scoring hell for leather style, where winning 5-2 is desired. Now they have reached the third division they’re in the land of footballing cynicism, shithousery, win at all costs, route one park the bus stuff.
I don’t think the carnival approach will work from here on in, they might have to become much less innocent.2 -
If you lived in Wrexham, wouldn’t you want to get out of there as often as you could?Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Come on now, they don't have unlimited wealth. Whilst I am somewhat pleased with the recruitment so far for us, I wouldn't say it has been better than signing League 1 players for a national league side, that'd be like us signing Premier League players in League 1.MintoHumbugs said:I I have been far more impressed with Charltons new owners regarding team investment than anything Reynolds has done.
Hollywood glamour without the Hollywood signings. I for one wouldn’t want to swap owners. After years of uncertainty Charlton seem to have struck gold with this lot.0 -
I know Stockport have had the " easier" start but I've also thought their signings have been a cut above Wrexham's too. Still waiting for this big blockbuster signing from Wrexham.3

How come when we had an American Rock Legend in charge of us, we didn't get such media attention, I mean how could you not love "Addicks to Victory!"BalladMan said:
Away end will sell out without a doubt. Quite of a lot of plastic Wrexham fans based in London (and yanks). I found it incredible when in Miami recently that Messi is everywhere (as expected) quite a few Man City and Utd shirts, but after that probably Wrexham as the fourth most represented club. Shirts were on sale everywhere that sold sports kits.PragueAddick said:You should see The Athletic. I’m surprised it hasn’t done a deal to be Wrexham’s “media partner”.

Other the than the fact he was a a grade A, 18 carot w***** I cannot think why not. 😉1 -
I agree although I think the dwindling wíll be faster. Where’s the story for the next series if they dont reach playoffs nor have a heroic battle against relegation, and they start to see the Elliot Lee that we did?Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Haha that raised a chuckle. Was just expecting a big fee on a striker to partner Mullin not for them to persist with Marriott and Palmer.0 -
Im suprised that they havent pushed the boat out more on signings but I also think they are being overly loyal to their existing squad who have done well for them so far. A good example of that is Elliot Lee I have alot of mates that are Wrexham fans and they love the guy, I have mentioned a few times that he wont be any good in League One and the reaction is laughter ! I think they will realise the reality in league one and then start to spend next year1

Gotta love the comments on here. If Rob & Ryan had bought us our fan’s would be jizzing into their super hero fancy dress outfits whilst waving the Stars and Stripes in the covered end.
I personally think Wrexham will finish above us7 -

Any team that finishes above us will be Champions.

Got a couple of mates from Wrexham, they have a London Reds group with about 100 members, all of whom have been supporting the club for years through thick and thin.killerandflash said:Wrexham won't have many "legacy" fans in London, as they've been small for years. They've had their share of dodgy business men trying to get hold of the club with an eye to shutting it down and developing the ground which thay have fought long and hard against.
They had years of uncertainty about their future, they are now on the up, why are people on here so jealous about that?11 -
