Bolton unbeaten in their last 5 visits to the Valley. 3 wins and 2 draws
Should be a ding dong do tomorrow afternoon
Bolton have always been a bit of a bogey team since I've been going. The first time I remember us playing them we lost 5-0 at Burnden.
I think it will be another very tight game and will go for 1-1. I'd love a 1-0 and am half expecting 0-1.
So who knows maybe it will be a goal feast? That's one of the beauties of football.
Was at BP that very wet day with another very well known CL Poster But also remember the 4-1 victory last game of season when we looked like getting relegated 😀🍺⚽️
Remember that 5 nil game very well. Best part of the day was meeting palace on the way home. I'll leave it there.
The toughest home match of the season. Glad we’re getting it out of the way early doors. Bolton are one of our bogey teams but after seeing the first two matches, we have suddenly developed an inner toughness. I have a sneaky feeling that we’ll nick this one 2-1
This will be a true reflection of where we are. Neither Wigan or Orient had much up top but we did well to keep them out. Bolton have one of the best front 3s in the league so will be a much tougher test for our defence.
A result will show that we are going to be there or thereabouts this season, I think we get one with a 1-1 draw

But watched Bolton’s front men fail to cut through Wrexham’s journeymen defence. Poor service from midfield I thought.
I still think they're the best team in this league, and are my favourites to go up, I think we might be playing them a bit too early while we find our groove.
Got a feeling we are gonna smash them 1-1 though
I too think they are the best team in the league and have made some decent summer signings. This game will tell us a lot about where we are. Think it’ll be a draw.
Real tough game and I do wonder how Bolton keep all their team together each season. Even if they have the money do players not have higher aspirations? Takes a buying club as well perhaps. That said they always do a job on us at the Valley and tomorrow this may be true again, 0-2.

Ah yes, we had reasonably new unreserved seating in the covered end. I took my girlfriend (now wife) to the game and I suggested we changed our seats at HT. Some bloke told us to move as we were sitting in their seats. I refused so he sat on the girlfriend. I thumped him and she hasn't been since
Rain looks horrific …. Remember the Doncaster game.
Wouldn’t be surprised if this one is touch and go. Exceptionally heavy on the radar, and consistent from 5am till kick off.
It's slowing up/turning to showers/stopping @1pm and we have proper drainage these days. I'd be amazed if the game was off, unless the heavy rain continues after 1 pm.
Bolton are a bit of a bogey side for us, but perhaps the away game last season might have shown that we don’t really need to fear them. Santos is showing one or two signs that he’s become more error prone of late and they’re not creating as many chances as they used to so far this season.
Up front will we stick with Gassy and Tupac? Probably. The later looked sharper v. Orient, post illness. Ahadme just needs a goal to settle his nerves. He had a very good downwards header well saved last week, which went under the radar.
I’m hoping for a win, but if I was forced to bet, I’d go for a 1-1. A win would be a real boost, and will hopefully boost attendances and atmosphere.
In 97 games since 1923 we've lost to them 47 times and won 29.
In the last six games we've lost five and drawn one. Crucially the draw came in the last game, so is the tide turning? Absolutely it'll be 1-1 today! (It'll take a bit longer to turn it around completely).
Bolton regularly do not have a goalkeeper on the bench so it would be great if today Baxter decides to go walkabouts and gets sent off or something meaning we would see an outfield player in goal.
They’ve changed shape slightly since the arrival of McAtee this summer with a 3-4-3 instead of 3-1-4-2 which we saw most of last season. It’ll a pose a different challenge to what we’ve faced so far as they’re physical but also got players up front that are very mobile and can pull our defence around a bit.
I think Small is going to have a great game against Dacres-Cogley, who I personally don’t think is a very good. Having TC in the team will allow us to double up that side a little and expose his weaknesses. That’s a way of avoiding Santos, who we know all about.
I would be tempted to slightly alter things but I think it’s probably best to leave the same team with Small coming in for Edward’s and probably REG or Edun coming in on the bench.
Win this and it sends out a message to the rest of the league. Big game, will be tough but I think our shape defensively will prove difficult for them. The introduction of Godden and Chuks will cause them problems.
So cards on table, I’ve been distinctly unimpressed with us so far, but delighted by the outcomes. I think it will prove we had a very soft start to the season and Wigan and Orient will be bottom third teams. I think we’ve looked nothing more than mid table so far.
So I’m looking forward to today to see how we compare against a team I’m confident will be better than what we’ve faced. A soft start may well have been just what we needed to give us an opening base, but I do think we need to improve to contend.
It looks like we’ve tightened defensively at a sacrifice to being creative offensive. Today will give a better steer towards n if we have tightened or just faced a couple of powder puff attacks

A Win would be massive but i can't see it myself.
Sorry for going all Golfie on you .
1-0 defeat
A win, or even a draw, against a very good team we have been unable to beat recently will signal to me this has the potential to finally be our year.

96th minute scrambled winner.

1-1 Ahadme to get off the mark
