If Edwards is this deep we need a lot more from Ramsay
I think we'll always have one WB be more attacking than the other. Ramsay isn't taking his chance too well so far today but I think as the game goes on we'll switch to Small and Tennai and it'll be Small who runs at them which will hopefully throw them a bit.
Not the most exciting 45mins I've ever seen. Think NJ will be satisfied enough with us defensively but we need to show a bit more quality and threat further forward. Interesting to see how long it leaves it before making changes.
Defensively look a different side from last season so far, the forward play has been turgid at best but that is the part of our game that is particularly uninspiring. Thought Doc was trying too much at times and the two next to him having solid if not quiet games so far. I think this game will suit DK as we need some more movement up front than were getting currently and Gassman is showing glimpses of the hold up play we desperately missed.
Decent enough half. We're at our most dangerous when Wigan are dealing with the ball over the top so that's why we've seen it so often. We can aggressively win the ball high up and that will be where most of our chances come from. Whisper it but we've looked pretty secure at the back so far and I think Jones and Mitchell will get on. Gillesphey is definitely the questionable one but Edwards is staying deep to support him so rarely exposed. Karoy is a bit neutered by playing deeper with Docherty pushing on but he's won some good tackles. TC is the one who needs to shape up a bit, he's obviously being told to pull wide so Doc can get near to Ahadme when he wins high balls but it's left him a bit peripheral. Got Kanu and Chuks to come on later so I would expect we'll ask different questions of them second half. Aasgaard is the potential danger man for them, need to keep him well marshaled
A quite impressive first half from Wigan, who probably enjoyed 65% of the possession, without creating a clear chance. Lots of good, one-touch football, with our ex-loanee, Matt Smith, having transformed into a metronome, through whom everything goes. We need to put some pressure on him, as he is running things at the moment.
We need a bit more control and possession in midfield, as if Wigan continue to have as much of the ball, we are likely to suffer in the later stages, although, against that, we do have a strong bench and players who can change things.
Feels like watching I'm still watching a friendly. Proper walking-pace snooze fest.
The commentator said the game had "an early season feel to it". Feels more like an end of season match to me. Pretty turgid stuff. Although to be fair to them, at least they've had a few shots. We've done nothing.
Coventry and Doc been very good and as a whole it’s very encouraging our pressing has been excellent .. Adhame won a number of headers we not read them that’s something we need to work on , Godden with his experience is a big miss ..
If we were losing the same old faces would be on here saying nothings changed and we're shit etc etc. We look so much better defensively, yes work to do up front still. Coventry is having a good game and we had a couple of half chances. Come away with a point and a clean sheet if possible and it's an improvement, surely?

Ref!
Wigan's had plenty of the ball but not done anything with it and we've had a couple of decent attacking moments ourselves.
Cautiously optimistic we can leave here with at least a point.
Id take another half like that to be honest. Will be interested to see how our fitness last.
Where are they?
WM looks good in goal

Feels like we're playing to draw here and take an advantage if we're given a chance to win later on.

Only good thing is our defenders are good in the air & look to head it clear rather than bringing it down & playing it out from the back.
Could at least do something more entertaining at half time .. either match specific or even division specific review of first halves.
