I hadn't realised Birmingham were missing both Stansfield and Dykes. Jutkiewicz off the bench is very much Plan C.
Didn't Stansfield break his leg ?
Nope, he's back on the bench tonight
I can't see him in the team lineups
Was in the original line up on BBC now changed to Stamsted
  • Imperative we beat Barnsley next Tuesday. Massive three games coming up.

Also, Orien lost 2-0 to Brum where we only lost 1-0......so worsened their GD compared to us.

Same as Barnsley. They beat Northampton 2-1 where we beat them 5-0.

  • Think one of the big benefits from tonight is the fact that Pratley played the full 90mins.

At his age I cant see him doing that again on Saturday, and his experience could be a big miss for them.

Surprised he lasted the full game.

How many times did he SLOWLY fall on top of the opposition
  • Orient game spoilt as a spectacle by the ref with the early sending off. Still think they will have too much for us on Saturday but would take a 0-0

They’ve got a fantastic away record but are awful at home . Won’t be easy
  • Some important games on Saturday:

    Orient Vs Charlton
    Birmingham Vs Wycombe
    Wrexham Vs Bolton
    Stevenage Vs Huddersfield
    Stockport Vs Blackpool
    Wigan Vs Reading

Couple of weeks ago would have fancied a Huddersfield, Stockport and Reading banker, but Huddersfield have lost the last 2, and are calling for the managers head. Blackpool have found a bit of form and might give Stockport some problems, and hopefully Wigan can do us another favour after tonight.

    That’s my prediction above

Would absolutely take those results now if someone offered them to us.

We shouldn't fear any club in this league. After Birmingham I don't think anyone really stands out.
None of the teams above us have beaten us this season bar Brum and Hudds with us down to 10 men.
  • Beating Orient would be massive Saturday., here's hoping!
  • I know we are all looking at the teams above but I’ve just noticed how tight it is between us Bolton & reading ! I’m more concerned about them than orient or Huddersfield

Heard someone had dragged him off by his legs  :)

See my comments earlier about Barnsley. To a lesser extent this goes for Reading & Bolton too.

Wigan beating Huddersfield is very good news. Their January transfer dealings seem to have weakened them
they have a lot of injuries, as I read, including their expensive transfer window signing (forget who it is). Reading it brought back all the memories of our injury crises; it really reminded me again how we have improved that side of things this season.
  • Orient game spoilt as a spectacle by the ref with the early sending off. Still think they will have too much for us on Saturday but would take a 0-0
Really, you think they have a better 1st XI than us now, even before their injuries and possible suspension? I’ve got enormous respect for what they’ve done this season, but it’s surely a case of excellent management and over-achieving.
I don't know. I've only watched their game at Wrexham, a few minutes at Bolton, and tonight's game and it's not like I've suddenly become knowledgeable on  all things Orient and football. It may just be easier to watch and enjoy their style of play as a neutral without emotional baggage that comes with watching us.

But i think it's safe say they have quality as individuals and a team and seem to have players that can slot in to cover for others. Sweeney the left back, for example, had a really good game at Wrexham, but didn't start tonight. But he was brought on as part of the re-jig when they went down to 10 men and did very well again. Pratley too, as we know, fits in and is as fit as a butcher's. Donley from Spurs, good engine and eye for a pass, and a long shot, which he tried again tonight.

They have something to be on the run they've been on and will be targetting the game against us with the same focus we should have. I don't think it will be fun to watch, or comfortable for us, but that's mostly because it can be psychologically safer to start with lower expectations in these more significant games.

Pratley has been horrible tonight.  Birmingham running circles around him -  looks like he is running in cement.

The proverbial six pointers coming up away at Orient and Stockport. I’ll take a point from both and keeping them within arms length all day long.

As long as we keep picking up wins at home - these important away games feel more like “must not lose” more so than must win.
  • Orient also play an ‘on the deck’ passing game and don’t have a big man up front to launch long balls at, which I think will suit our high press.

I’m confident we won’t lose but I think it will be cagey and safety first which will see a point a piece.

A few people wrote off Barnsley after a poor run, now after 2 wins in 4 days and a home game this weekend they're right back in it.
  • Orient have lost their last two games and had a player sent off in two of the last three. All three games have been against opponents at the top end of the table. The pressure and doubts will be mounting for them ahead of Saturday’s game. We need to get at the Orient players and fans from the start and, when I say ‘we’, that is the Charlton fans that will be at the game. If we’re making all the noise then it’s likely their fans won’t be.

Given that we have a game in hand, i'd take that.
