To apply, email beverley.marchant@royalgreenwich.gov.uk. Include your:
- name
- address
- mobile number

Greenwich Council must hate its residents.22

Will be interested to see how this helps to boost attendances, if at all? I went along 37 years ago with a now good friend and neighbour with no expectation of the suffering and moments of jubilation I would become addickted to. We can but hope some residents turn up for big home wins and get that same itch.

It would be interesting to know how many free tickets are available per game.

Interesting that the free tickets are available for all the top ‘Gold’ level games only0

I think it is a great idea. Bums on seats. And hopefully a few return.4

I assume the demand is for the free tickets but the way i see it is if you can't afford a ticket a freebie is a nice treat. But if you get a taste for it you still can't afford to come.CAFCTrev said:
Demand is so high, we can give away tickets for free.clive said:Due to high demand, you can only apply once2 -
I just hope that the club and local authority have the correct processes and resources in place for the inevitable rise in demand for help with trauma and Mental Health issues.
Is MIND a partner in this scheme?2 -
Great idea. It’s not like there’s a shortage of empty seats!0

I think there should be a provision whereby if they get a free ticket they have to make their parking space available! Seriously, it's not a bad idea to try and attract new fans. We certainly have plenty of scope to offer freebies. I am hoping there will be some offers for freebies to season ticket holders too this coming season.1

I'm surprised the club are allowed to run a discriminatory ticketing promotion based on postcodes. Not a complaint just an observation.10

This does not appear to be a ticket promotion, the club give a limited amount of tickets to the local council [Royal Borough of Greenwich] & then they distribute as they want, possibly to the poorer residents of the area.SantaClaus said:I'm surprised the club are allowed to run a discriminatory ticketing promotion based on postcodes. Loads of companies do it. the villages surrounding Alton Towers are all given season tickets to the park. It’s just a way for the club to engage with the local communitySantaClaus said:I'm surprised the club are allowed to run a discriminatory ticketing promotion based on postcodes. The club are not running a free ticketing promotion - Greenwich council are0

I have tried this maybe 4/5 times and never once got a ticket
just get told they're all gone immediately 1 -
Its never been seen as discriminatory every single other time it happened. Its certainly no more discriminatory than charging people less because they are old/young.SantaClaus said:I'm surprised the club are allowed to run a discriminatory ticketing promotion based on postcodes. I’d take that as a hint feller…YannTheMann said:I have tried this maybe 4/5 times and never once got a ticket

Good, I think a discount on season tickets should apply if you live in SE10, SE3, SE7 or SE18 to attract more local residentsSantaClaus said:I'm surprised the club are allowed to run a discriminatory ticketing promotion based on postcodes. Not a complaint just an observation.2 -
Odd take. Something we can all be proud of, even in the last few years of terrible football, is what a great community club we are. Surely the borough offering free tickets to local residents is a part of that.SantaClaus said:I'm surprised the club are allowed to run a discriminatory ticketing promotion based on postcodes. People living in West Kingsdown have long got free tickets for Brands Hatch as compo for the noise and inconvenience.SantaClaus said:I'm surprised the club are allowed to run a discriminatory ticketing promotion based on postcodes. Not a complaint just an observation.0 -
Not a fan of freebies , the system will be abused.2

Well they went quick, mate of mine that lives 2 mins from The Valley applied and they were all gone for the date he picked. Would imagine there were not many available rather than a huge demand within a hour of posting the offer.0

Mate of mine got free season ticket given to him by Cray Wanderers for living near new ground. He is also Charlton season ticket holder and has been for decades.0

Being a bit of a misery does anyone know how many tickets and in which stands. I ask this as I have had to on a few occasions politely ask people to move as they have parked their backside on my seat. Some didn't want to move.
I am happy for this type of promotion as long as it doesn't result in annoying season ticket holders.0 -
I travel almost 100 miles each home game. Maybe they could throw a discount on that too when you consider travel cost etc.sam3110 said:

Sod ‘em, bloody nimbys, they’re the ones that voted in the councillors who make it harder for our fans to park on matchdays 😁1
