Blimey priority sale for a friendly.
My thoughts. It's not as if it's a new ground for us either, unlike when we played Sutton.
  • Surprised we’re doing priority sale for this.
  • Restricted?? Get a grip.

Had the same for Millwall last pre-season. Though that one was more understandable.
  • 3000 tickets and put on priority sale !!!!
We would only take 2000 to Orient for a league game.

    Crazy.
  • 11 phases for a pre season friendly lol

    Utterly bonkers
  • Maybe they haven't got sufficient staff, so prefer to spread out the sales?

Opening hours remain the same, 11am to 17.00 Monday to Friday except matchdays.

This is smart from from our pink trousered CEO, saves about £16.11 annually in radiator costs at the ticket office, can’t imagine why nobody else has thought of it before.
I wonder what other trade could be squeezed into the ticket office space….

It would be a shame if the ticket office staff have got the boot or made part time to accommodate this.

When buying my AFC Wimbledon & Portsmouth tickets today at 'The Valley' i did ask about this & apparently nobody has lost their jobs under this new arrangement.

It makes perfect sense to me, assuming that there is only an occasional ticket sale and someone is available to serve them in the club shop.
It's a different matter if staffing in the shop is insufficient.
Plenty of lower league teams do this (and we are lower league at present).
  • In all likelihood this will sell out so it raises the question would this be the first time ever we’ve sold out the away allocation for a pre season friendly?
  • I'm in the Wimbledon hospitality suite for this one. Don't think I'll have a problem with the home fans!
  • This time next week we’re there at Plough Lane, hopefully with a reasonable support to help raise a bit of competitive approach to it and treating this game as the traditional last preseason warm up; and then we can treat the Pompey match the week after as ‘the first game of the season’. That should then set the team up nicely for the actual first game the week afterwards.

  • Says it's the 5th of 7 pre season games. Thought there was just Wimbledon and Portsmouth left? Who is the 7th game?

Not seen one announced. They might split the squad in half and play the A team against Pompey and find a game for the rest elsewhere so both groups can get 90mins
  • They seem to be a game behind us in preseason matches, or vice versa as the case may be (has Nathan got the squad a match ahead in its preparation ?)

Does the game Wednesday night at 7oaks count as one of them?
  • Haven’t been to a pre-season yet this summer so I’m looking forward to this one.

We can only take that many as that's our allocation.  What's your point?

    Our allocation was 1,319?
  • Any idea how many tickets have been sold?
  • It would be good to get as many Charlton fans along to this and make a noisy show of support for the squad and new players in particular. It’s an easy or relatively easy journey for a lot of our fans and possibly still a new ground for many given we’ve only played there once (?)
