  • Jones either does not rate him or has had a bust up with him.
Ahadme seems to be completely bombed from the squad.
Not necessarily, other than AMB we have an entirely fit squad. Kanu, Mitchell and his favourite Danny Hylton can’t make the bench either. Some have to miss out and it shows why he was happy for the likes of Edun to go, they were nowhere near making the bench.
  • saw him in the coach/car park after the Brum game .. he was busy with fans taking selfies .. I asked why he wasn't playing, shouted reply 'still injured' .. wasn't on the team coach, he and (presumably) his gf left the car park with a couple of wheelie suit cases

Hylton won’t be included in the match squad unless like before when we had 12 players out injured … he here as a coach first and foremost

Tbf the only match I can see Hylton ever featuring in for us again is against Northampton in April!
  • I'd like to see him given a chance, it's unlikely he dislodges TC or Godden, but he has to offer more than Chuks, at the very least he can close down better.

He's got a header on him, and we are getting balls in the box now, he may do better in this team now it's settled and there's less pressure on his shoulders.
If we want someone to close down then we have Leaburn and Kanu both ahead of Ahadme. So with Leaburn taking that role, the other option shouldn’t be something similar. This is why Chuks is there and in recent games like Bolton and Orient he has made a positive impact

Chuks mainly comes on when we need a goal these days and there’s no planet where Ahadme offers more in that situation.

I know, my point was we have several players who can’t make the bench, including back ups like Hylton.

Not being a sub doesn’t prove Jones has given up on Ahadme or that they’ve had a bust up.

Godden and Chuks surely have just a season or two left in them, he will be needed next season whatever league we are in, unless of course he has rocked the boat so much his career has sunk without trace, excuse the mixed metaphors
We are a far more confident and together team than we were when he was being selected, i m o this would make a 'comeback' easier than in the recent past.
He obviously has ability, it's a question of developing that ability and developing a role for him within this, or the next team structure.
Lastly, he was an expensive buy  for us, we need to try as much as possible to get our moneys' worth before writing him off
  • He'd probably look better now as a team we are playing better but he wouldn't start ahead of Godden or Leaburn.

  • Gas was a big part of the Crawley debacle, and no part of the turn around since.

This is exactly what I was thinking, seems like his game is all about wingers getting crosses into him. We are doing that much more often now.

I understand the point but we're a different team front to back since that night. Gas clearly struggled in a team lumping long balls up the pitch in his vague direction, maybe he'd look better in a team playing the kind of football we're showing now. When he's fit and Nathan thinks he's ready I'd like to see him brought on with 20 mins to go to see what he can do.

We're at a critical stage of the season and every point counts. It's not the time to hand out chances to players who are at the bottom of the pecking order. Maybe he can impress in the pre-season friendlies.

Hand out no, but if we pick up any injuries he may get a chance as a sub and that might be all he needs to challenge for a place on the bench.

There’s a lot of games coming up, I wouldn’t completely rule out the chance of that happening. Depends if Jones has completely given up on him or not.

    True, assuming he's above Hylton!
