Is anybody able to explain how this guy has commanded such a large fee? It looks hugely out of kilter with his on paper career history, but here’s hoping !

That fee will be largely based on add ons. If we get promoted for instance they will get more. Makes sense to me
I work in Cambridge so I have seen a lot of him play. He definitely has a lot going for him and I can see what he is the kind of forward that NJ would like - big, fit and strong, really hard working and someone who will put defenders under a lot of pressure. He could do with having better players around him than he did at Cambridge and some settled coaching, but there is quality there and he could easily flourish.

Please no🤦🏻♂️ Let's just be thankful they are trying to be Pro active in having a pool of forwards in Ahadme, Godden, Kanu, Leaburn(when fit) Aneke(when fit) and Campbell to give some competition to the system Jones wants to play.

But somebody above suggested it’s 1m + add ons ?
Yes I saw that. But I believe it's 1m including add ons.

I would say that promotion would be an add on but the £1m (or however much) will be staged and only reach £1m if certain numbers are reached like games played and goals scored

£1 mil is peanuts now (not for us mind), when you consider a England winger who's barely been used cost £45 million, and Declan Rice who seems bang average cost £105 million.
Looking forward to seeing him play. This feels like that’s all our striker signings done, unless someone too good to turn down comes along (a loan perhaps?).
On the talk of a £1m fee I’m sure that’ll be including clauses. On why he’s worth so much, that’s the reality once a young player, especially a striker, starts to reach their potential. He could be worth a lot more if he does it in the Championship. We wouldn’t be happy if we sold one of our best young players for under a million.
This is anlso another step forward in us becoming a much tougher and physical side. We’ve been too soft for years, aside from the few successful seasons we’ve had.
Unit with presence I'd describe him. I like the look of him. Will give us the bit off steel up top we've so desperately needed Knows where the goal is. Scores from set pieces and can take a penalty.
Which one of the long line of shit managers we have had decided to put Chem Campbell on Ahadme from a corner lol, Appleton time wasnt it.
Fingers crossed he works out, he has every possibility to do it. I also have a feeling he’s our long-term Leaburn replacement.
The SMT are banging on about a more sustainable set up and are perhaps looking at the Peterborough model. They pay large fees for promising players they know they will sell for profit, sometimes within a year.
I think Leaburn is at the end of that cycle, when fit he will command decent money. I’m also convinced if he had stayed fit he would’ve been sold by now.
I think that’s why he isn’t being rushed back to playing, they’re taking the extra time so he’ll have a good run in the team till the January window and then be sold. Some of that money will be reinvested in the squad, the rest to keep the losses down. I think this is what Charlie has sold to the owners, some of it is outlined in the Texas document.
Just my hunch mind, I’m not ITK but it may fit some of what has already been revealed.
I’m hoping Charlie boy can pull this off as it can work. I would say that Peterborough have been working this way for 20 years now and their network must be very refined by now. Not as exciting as owners just splashing cash but as with Peterborough it is more sustainable.

Feels like since we signed Darren Bent and Matt Holland from them, they've perennially had our pants down!!

Makes no sense.

Please be good.
Feels a lot if the fee reported is true, but hopefully he ends up being more than worth it.

Looks decent and fits Jones' style of play.
was he from Ipswich
