I see about people saying TC’s over hit the cross but if you put yourself in his position, you look up and see Ahadme behind his defender and at the back post, you’ve got to put enough on it to beat the keeper and the defender just to reach him.
If TC can see Ahadme has run into the space to attack it, he might not have put as much on the cross. Just pointing out a different view from what would likely be TC’s thoughts.
This is painting TC up to be a first class winger with an amazing eye for detail, a pinpoint accuracy and a great footballing IQ.
He smashed it across the goal in faint hope it might get turned in

Not really, it’s saying that he is intelligent enough to have a little look up before blindingly hitting it without recognising the weight of the ball in. It would be unfair and inaccurate to say he can’t and doesn’t. We have seen it before that he can, and does.
I highly doubt he scores any goals this season from low drilled crosses, that’s not his game.
For him to have any chance from TC’s cross there, he needed the ball floated across so he could attack it with his head.
Just a bit of miscommunication / partnership building that’s going to take time to get right.
It’s admitting that he’s limited but again, the club will have known these things about him before they bought him and they’ll also know he’s not getting the service he thrives on. Either we work to give him that service or pull him from the starting XI.
The one time the ball has been floated into the box in his vicinity from wide areas, he got his head on the end of it and directed the ball back across the goalkeeper. That was a glimpse of what he offers and that’s what he needs to start scoring some goals.
Yeah, but then NJ was berating him after that saying he should have directed it at the goal.

What did you want him to do with the ball at that point? He crossed it to the perfect area, yes, with pin point accuracy 🤷🏼♂️
Echoing what people have already said about low crosses not being his thing.
Ahadme wins a lot of headers which is something we haven’t possessed for quite a while.
Interested to see some stats on this if there are any. I don’t feel like he has won lots of headers, a lot of them he doesn’t even look like he’s trying to win them, he just tries to get in the defenders way

According to Opta data via Fotmob
He has won 21 “aerial duels” which puts him in the top 10% / 90th percentile among L1 forwards.
His “aerial duel win rate” is 43.8% which puts him in the top 26% / 74th percentile among L1 forwards.

Which mainly tells you we're playing in a much more direct style than the rest of the league

Yes that’s a lot of it. But he’s still decently rated in win percentage too.
Telling that all of his attacking numbers are right at the bottom of the charts and his defensive actions are probably some of the best in the league at his position. He shows up really well in recoveries, turnovers in the final third etc.

Where is he for goals scored and assists?
You know the answer so why ask the question? Unless you’re trying to counter a point I wasn’t making in the post you quoted.
Someone asked for the stats on headers so I posted them.

Only one behind our top scorers and assist makers.
Much like Nabby Sarr before him, some people just aren't going to take to him, every kick or non kick of the ball will be under a giant microscope, every mistake blown out of proportion and every positive action played down, because like Sarr, he's come in on a (so far internet rumored) big fee at a time a "proper Charlton" and fans favorite in the same position has left Morrison (roughly) then, May now.
This is a forum, at least I think it is. It is a place where we discuss issures with the team. Many of the posts on here seem to be discussing a percieved issue with the team. I don't think it is scapegoating and I think there is acceptance from most that it is still early, but people are commenting on what they see so far and were doing so before last weekend's defeat. Those that are trying to say he has done well so far, well I'm afraid they are using smoke and mirrors IMO. Those that write him off are being unfair on the lad but to observe and comment on an aspect of the team's capabilities, whether correctly or incorrectly, is exactly what should go on in a forum like this I think.

This is kind of the issue ultimately, he's doing well at the pressing style and defending from the front stuff that Jones wants him to do and that's all well and good but (currently) that's instead of, not as well as, being an attacking threat as well, which should really be his job as a striker.
If/when we find a way or another player to provide that goal threat then he can carry on doing what he does under less scrutiny. It's not all on him as the pressuring percentage play Jones wants doesn't really lend itself to "clear chances" but he's the most visible target/symptom of that style.
Ahadme is suffering from our lack of creativity and poor crossing accuracy. What he can effect is pressing well and winning the ball in the air which he is doing well. Not sure there are many strikers who would have scored with the lack of service he is getting.

Given he scored a fair few headers before, I do genuinely think he'd have buried the same chance that Godden did if he'd been the one on the pitch then. That cross from Aneke is the kind of service Ahadme generally hasn't got so far.
Think we need to give him more time. I like his work rate, something that many players we've had last few yrs have lacked. In the one game I saw him against Bolton there was a point when he had the ball fairly wide and I felt he should have continued through but slowed down and waited for Bolton players to get back in position which was disappointing.
I'll be watching him closely on Saturday to see how he gets on.
One thing I'll say as well there are many players we've had who have started either slowly or poorly and turned it around. One of best examples I can think of is Rhoys Wiggins. I remember him getting a lot of stick and giving the ball away a lot in first 5-6 games. Then after that he turned out to be one of our players of the season along with many and when he got injured next season he was a big loss. We also never properly replaced him.

Ah well, hope it works out for the poor fcker.
Morrison was a lot better than Sarr though, although it was Ben Haim and Bikey that replaced Morrison, with a bit of Gomez.
Every single person on here hopes it works out. Doesn't mean that on a forum about Charlton Athletic that people can't point out that he's been crap so far.
If we had someone who could cross the ball properly then I think we might see a different player.
One of the biggest factors for me, there's no denying he lacks a bit of flair, and isn't gonna run past two defenders and stick it top bins, but he's proven his aerial threat in this league, and we don't have a proper marksman in this team.
Terry Taylor could be that player, but I don't think he will get the chance.
Ahadme has been under utilised a bit so far. I think with minimal service, and a striking partner that's only recently been converted from a winger, most strikers would struggle, even May.
We are getting into the right positions and putting crosses in plenty but we have the 6th lowest Cross Success % in the league so far, so we are rarely finding a teammate.
Also looks like we are going to be defending a lot of them on Saturday

Combine that with often being isolated and lack of service, I'm not surprised that he's not scoring.
That's a pretty credible 1 goal every 180mins or so for a team that narrowly beat relegation.
If you want to be really mean you could point out that 3 (I think) were penalties and 2 were against our woeful defence. There were also no assists.
I hope he comes good.
