Think the return of Edwards is more beneficial to the team than Leaburn.
Agreed, he brings so much defensively. Would be interested to see us do a similar thing to with strikers and change the LWB to Small for the last 20/30 mins, his pace against a knackered full back could be dangerous if he sorts his final ball.

I really like him and obviously MoM deservedly at Wigan, was excellent… but these comments seem a little over the top based on 1.2 games for the club!

Yeah possibly. He looked solid in preseason too (yes I know it’s different) and the defence has looked a bit less good without him.

Think they both upgrade the 2 weak points of the team at the moment. Get both fit and up to speed and into our starting eleven and we will be a very good side
Edwards could be the missing piece going forwards, a player that can actually deliver a decent cross

Scant evidence on the basis of one example, but he put in a mean in-swinging left foot free kick against Wigan. An area we continue to be poor in, so maybe he can help there too.
IF Josh gets back in the team, and stays there... I foresee it being a battle of the Wing-Backs for POTY between him and Ramsay
When 3-5-2 is your formation of choice then assuming the goals are shared out then wing backs are essential to the success of this strategy and should be in contention for POTY.
Only six games gone so pure speculation and premature when there are 40 games left where opposition coaches can plan against the 3-5-2.
Would hope to see him play in the Cambridge game. He hasnt been out that long and had a proper pre season. So no reason he shouldnt be out there. Also perfect game for Leaburn to get some minutes.
At some point this season his long throw will lead to a goal for us. I haven’t a clue, but can anybody remember the last time we scored following a long throw? Might be back in the days of Carl Leaburn.
Lets not get carried away and pile pressure on the lad he’s only played two games, admittedly he was very good in both, but last season we were singing the praises of Small now he’s second best to Edwards. We as a fan base are too quick to judge Gas was a shocking player after 5 games now Edwards is a world beater after two.
Much prefer him to Small who has really disappointed this season so far. Will NJ chuck Edwards back in tomorrow?
Edwards is more of a left back than Small. As we have been playing defensively with Small in the side he has suffered in comparison with Edwards, who looks more defensively solid. And unfortunately for Small, Ramsey has looked good in defence and attack. If we were more on the front foot I think Small would show up better, but great to have these options (and Edun looked good on Tuesday going forward as well)

He seems to have lost a bit of weight..and height, oh and who's the guy behind him...🙄
(This is not talking down on Ramsay, he’s really really good - using it as a measure of how good Josh could be)
Having 4 left-footed defenders of this ability is a position that we have not been in for some time.
