I am in no doubt that there are many on this site who know Bod a legend of Charlton. Sadly he passed away on Wednesday 10th April, and per the wishes of his two daughters and son, this wasn't to appear on any social media platforms or forums for a week so they could grieve. Those did know of this legend who followed our beloved club week in week out home and away, as well as many England games and tournaments will have their own stories to tell. He will leave a hole in many peoples lives and the world we be a much more boring and quieter place without him.

Bod was a truly infectious character and all that knew him, will miss him so much, so many wonderful memories going football with him since 1986, he even dj'd at my 21st

Bod was a great guy, always the life and soul. Don't think I can remember meeting him when he wasn't either smiling or laughing.

Done, Bod always had a massive smile and would greet you like a long lost friend, a lovely bloke.
He was an ever present on away trips during the late 80s/90s. I think I first really got to know him during a riot on a campsite in Malmo at the 92 Euros, we were both nearly wiped out by a Swedish fire engine, he was even smiling away through that!

I last saw him at Burton away a couple of years back, cant believe another Charlton legend has passed away too soon.

Sadly I never had the pleasure of knowing Bod but it is clear from the comments on this and the other thread that he will be sorely missed not just by his family but by all at CAFC and beyond.

Top man , always knew him to see through aways back in the day just on nodding terms ,  big grin on his face always, last couple of years saw him in the West Stand and he'd sneak in with us for a quick beer and chat in the Vista Lounge after a few of the midweek games .
He'll be missed

37 years I knew this madman, We would say something and both of us would burst out laughing, it was our sense of humour, Best man at his wedding, the stag was a story to be told in itself had a camera crew following us for a documentary, all had to sign a disclaimer, told us before setting of he was a pacifist, and tee total, drunk and stoned by Northampton and put on his arse in a ruck outside a nightclub on the Friday night.
Turned up at my doorstep one night saying he had left his missus and could he get his head down on my sofa for a few nights....not a problem mate......six months later, don't you think you should be looking to getting your own place now Bod.
This man was a like a brother to me and I will never have a mate like it.

What a bloke always chipper when I see him about up the Heath,knew him from school days myself & was a great friend back then,lost contact as ya do for many many yrs…then just regularly bumped into him at Charlton,always a great greeting with Bod,last see him proper was a Rangers game up the Oak & was hoping to have seen him at the last old firm derby,but it was not to be…,RIP Bod mate,true Cafc legend & certainly won’t be forgotten…

Top man was Bod, as everyone has said always a big grin on his face and would greet you as if he hadn’t seen you in ages
Just a one off really 
He laid the carpet on the stairs/landing at our house years ago, was in and out the house all day and took a long time to get it finished but he was determined to get it done
Got to about half 10 and me n the mrs were like, we’re going to bed mate, and left him to finish up

when I went to tell the wife the sad news I just said to her, do you remember Bod?
she said, he’s not still upstairs doing the carpet is he?

As mentioned on the other thread I probably knew Bod more from the local dart leagues he played in and bump into him at away games, very good darts player on his day, even played for our team one night as we were short on players, always a big smile on his face could never do enough to help anyone out. Still can't quite believe he's gone but he won't be forgotten, a legend in the local dart leagues.

Done. Went to quite a few away games with him on the mid to late 90s. Days before mobiles but you knew that if you turned up at a certain pub on certain time train he’d be there. Always looked up to him. RIP bod.

I think back to those days too mate. As a teenager in the early 90s, Bod was part of that slightly older crowd that I looked up to. I never had the pleasure of being friends with him, but whenever I was in or around his company he was always smiling and laughing and giving off fun and mischievousness vibes.  

My thoughts go to his friends and family, He’s a personality that I can imagine will leave a void with quite a few people where a night out or an away game won’t feel the same again. RIP Bod

I remember when we played Crewe away 97 we scored an early goal, loads got on pitch and we ended up in the front row with Bod now sitting next to us with pie in hand, that he’d gone on the pitch holding. He was then up and down like a yo yo and me and Mrs AFKA ended up wearing half the pie.

Have another vague memory of us climbing a fence at an away game somewhere celebrating a goal and me and him coming down to find we’d copped a load of anti climb paint or something all over our clothes.
