Was watching the London game the other day and my partner asked me a question I've never thought of and couldn't answer as my NFL knowledge isn't particularly strong so I'm hoping someone here might know. Given how stop start it can be, are there a large amount of soft tissue/muscle injuries in the NFL? And if not, how do they prevent it? Players are out there for hours and can spend over 50% of that sat around doing nothing so surely their muscles must "cool down"?
Not such a good day yesterday compared to last week....had some screeching American woman in my ear for the first 3 quarters. It honestly ruined it for me.
Have decided to try and get into American football as have NFL games broadcast here, tried before years ago and didn't think much of it, but gone in this time after consultanting chatgpt for a simple rules run down. Also threw it a Charlton supporter profile and it recommended The Giants, Jets or Green Bay as who to follow (Funnily enough the Packers were who I tried watching before)
Just caught up with the game from Monday and well.... I think you can put me down as a newbie NFL and Jets fan!

Having a team is crucial imo
tried to get into it about 12 years ago and couldn’t. Following season I picked a team (Chiefs) and was hooked.
just having that specific team and roster of players to follow felt so much more involved.

Also, there will be a lot going on that you won’t understand at first.
I have been watching since 1984 and I couldn’t tell you if there was an illegal formation or an illegible receiver on a play.
I played NFL jersey bingo today, ticking off all the teams as I saw someone wearing a jersey of theirs. Rules were it had to be worn, not just seen, and it had to be an official jersey. Ticked off everyone just walking around outside the stadium and in the shops/food areas, all within 2 hours of turning up.
Bonus points were a couple of college jerseys, a Canadian Football League jersey, and even a couple of London Monarchs jerseys!
All in all it was a great day out, and whilst not exactly the same as tailgating in Foxboro, it had a unique vibe to it and was a very well organised event, with the queues long but steadily moving, and copious amounts of food and drink stalls in and out the stadium

Which CFL jersey did you see?
Tiger-Cats, I thought it was a Steelers throwback at first as it was white with black and yellow sleeves but then I saw the logo
