  • 34' Booking for Stockley
He's cautioned for a late challenge on Tennai Watson.
  • Stockley rightly booked for that challenge on watson

  • Bit of a slow burner this one
  • Can we get the Labrador sent off?

  • Gillesphey has a pop from range but it's well over the bar

    Poor game is an understatement
Poor pitches really dictate these games.
Before the Premier League was invented most pitches were crap after January. Most were just mud. George Best & Rodney Marsh coped ok. The Liverpool team of the 70's & 80's didnt play bad either.

I'd argue they'd struggle against the athletes of today.
But he was talking about the pitches not being a barrier to good football
  • Shrews 1-0
  • Is Thomas wearing clown shoes today? Nearly every clearance is going straight up in the air
  • No one is watching from the rear of those terraced houses near the corner flag.
There's a couple shagging upstairs in the house on the left.

Looking  more likely to score than we are

The players of today play far more attractive football than what was played all those years ago.

Picking the best players of an era that would struggle against most average PL sides these days for quality and would be obliterated for fitness doesn't really help his point.

We're talking two league one sides on a pitch suitable for Sunday league.

But the point still remains that good games were played on rubbish pitches.

Nothing to do with players of old versus players of today.
  • Pen!
  • penalty to us?
