  • I know it's early but how are this lot top?
  • Very scrappy as a game so far, ball is going out for a lot of throw ins - Pompey not quite got their passing boots on yet, we're not exactly keeping hold of it

Tennai's passing is a bit moody thus far, but his tackling and determination are there.
He's much better when he can defend on the front foot, press, close men down and get into passing lanes.

    Day of the Bogeys?

    13' Sharp stop from Isted
     He tips over Moxon's volley.

    You were saying?

Also they're missing probably four or five starters.
  • Two saves so far from Isted. Doubling his count for the season. Hopefully he keeps making them.

Nice save Isted... Beautifully created by Moxon

Took May out of the equation and created space for his volley far too easily

What are you on about? He's made lots of saves this season?
  • Carlisle winning 0-1
    B/poo 1-1
  • Game will finish this evening I'm sure, given the amount of time Pompey take with any throws or set pieces.

They must be top by boring the opposition to death!!
  • Good interception from Alfie, turned and played a lovely though ball to Kanu, just a fraction too heavy.
  • Meanwhile, at the other end ...

Pompey cxxx goes down in the box because a Charlton foot was near him.

Alfie May (Charlton Athletic) wins a free kick in the defensive half.

Still saying it. Just missed a sitter from 4 yards out
  • Portsmouth finding far too much open space on the right, we need to press a bit more, or they will just dominate things...

  • Unfuck our luck…

  • Pompey hit the bar. Isted with a good save too.
  • Wow. Close shave again. Crossbar hit by Pompey and we survive it. Defence falling asleep again.
  • We're sitting back a bit too much this week, rather than keeping the ball and taking it to the opposition like we did against Bolton.
  • Isted brilliant today

Or they could be two or three up.

I mean we're not defending well in our own box but if you can't see the quality in this Pompey side as they grow into the game and continue to make quality chances, I don't know what to tell you.
  • Derby winning 0-1

Alright, just trying to keep things a little light hearted. But he hasn’t. It was a bit of a running joke early season and then he got dropped/injured so he hasn’t made that many saves this season.

Pompey just slapping the ball wildly up field at every opportunity.

Then diving like they've been smashed by a freight train every time a CAFC player gets close.
  • Oxford 1-0
