Peter Shaw?1

Ray Tumbridge? (I'm sure @Henry Irving will smile at this)1

Terry Brisley?
If not I reckon it could be a player that played a small number of games and we barely remember what they looked like 40/50 years ago, let alone now.0 -
Can we have another clue? Does the winner get a free copy of the book?0

**** getting another clue - some of us aren't gonna live that long!thetomahawkkid said:Can we have another clue? Does the winner get a free copy of the book?
Can't we just have the answer?5 -
Perhaps if he can take his glasses off for another picture.thetomahawkkid said:Can we have another clue? Does the winner get a free copy of the book?0 -

If he had shaved off his moustache and the glass was hiding his slightly goofy teeth, it could almost be Killer.1

That’s made it much easier- it’s Simon ChurchChizz said:

Whoever it is let us know tomorrow. Gonna ask my dad later. He might, doubtful, know.

I think I've got it. The 1975 to 1985 clue is misleading. They are not years but seconds. So, it's someone that played between 32 and 33 minutes for us. Your name is Charlie Kirk and I claim my £5.0

The most wildly inaccurate guesses so far have to be Steve Thomson and Peter Shaw.0

Another vote for the Stepney born Terry Brisley.0

You have got it. Johnny Ostergaard is the correct answer. He played for Charlton between 1979 and 1981. He and Viggo Jacobsen were signed from Denmark shortly after the EEC made it illegal to ban Europeans from British football. Johnny is now semi-retired, and his full story will appear in volume 2 of 'The Valiant 1000', due out in July or August.No.1 in South London said:Johnny Ostergaard

I did clarify the dates some hours ago. Anyway, well done No1 in South London.killerjerrylee said:
That is correct. Within that period but not the whole time.ElfsborgAddick said:
I think the hint was misleading, perhaps he did not play for us throughout the entire period?JohnnyH2 said:
But the clue said he left in 85, Les still played for us in 86Lincsaddick said:process of elimination .. Les Berry1 -
Sorry but once again another Danish. Center forward who found it hard to play in English football. At least he did score against Wrexham in the FA Cup. We lost 6-1 away.2
