Steve Wright DJ RIP


DJ Steve Wright, who presented programmes for BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 for more than four decades, has died at the age of 69.

    That's so sad, I listened to him on Radio 1 back when I first started working and then later on Radio 2, he was a fantastic presenter. Was gutted when Radio 2 recently replaced him in the afternoon. Loved all the characters he used to have on his shows, Mick and Keef, Mr Angry etc. Lots of great laughs and memories. RIP

    I think Elvis was my favourite of all the characters, but they were all funny.

    Absolutely gutted by this news, he was broadcasting his pre-recorded Sunday love songs show just 2 days ago! I grew up listening to him on R1 and then R2, a great broadcaster and a huge loss. RIP Steve my condolences to family and friends xx

    A huge part of my life growing up.
    Met all the DJ’s hanging outside Radio 1 as a kid. He was lovely.
    His voice, those characters.
