Charlton were a depressed club with apathy and Nathan's career was on the decline after Stoke and Southampton.
The first four months his words didn't reflect what we were seeing on the pitch. But suddenly the 3-5-2 and its near variant started to work as vital player were fit.
Slade and Appleton's hands in pocket approach was never going to excite the natives but the crazy intense Welshman was the right fit as CAFC desperately needed to get back to the 2nd tier as much as NJ did.
Nathan will say OTT comments like he did with TC after his 3 best performances last season and if Bristol City are as clinical against CAFC as they were against Sheffield United then the roller coaster will start in earnest.
The press conferences will remain lively whatever the result and "may his God go with him"
That was quite an interview! You could feel the emotion about half way through. I think NJ “feels” Charlton in a similar way to SCP and it’s great to see. I’m sure he believes we can do better this year than the majority of us think.
