It's one of those "damned if they do, damned if they don't" statements. People will moan it doesn't say much and others will moan if they say nothing. Problem is we are at such a low ebb (after so many desperate years) that nothing the board,club,team, etc. say seems convincing.
What they say today will be forgotten tomorrow but indeed what they do will not, one way or the other. The current evidence suggests we shouldn't be too optimistic, but if they get things right I will call that as such. Likewise, I will call what I think they get wrong. There has been much more of that so far I think. The ball is in their court.
I know they feel they have to do stuff like this but its just more words and they are so easy. Actions, tangible actions are hard but they are what counts.
One thing I'll say is they are clearly backing Scott and I'm not too sure that's a great idea. His recruitment this month when players have to hit the ground running has been naive. Fiorini, Ladapo (who i think will become a good signing), Gillesphey, Coventry, Bakinson, Edmonds-Green, all are a month away from being match fit and brand new to a fairly low brow group. Given how appalling the defence has been and how uninspiring the midfield are they invariably all have to play their way to integrating, getting to know their also new teammates and getting match sharp.
Which, given the amount of loans we have seems scattergun and without a plan, which is Scott's job

Bit of a nothing statement, but cant argue that this window has been good. If they get the manager right, a couple of new wingbacks and a winger so we can change it up when needed, i really think we will be there or thereabouts next season.
I’m not sure what people expect them to say. The MA appointment was never going to work it was obvious the guy is a loser in terms of mentality that was happy to draw or lose to top top teams in league one ffs. However they have responded and sacked him now the important thing is to get it right. Regardless of what anyone says the owners have shown ambition and spent money on players that nearly everyone one of us was chuffed with a week ago now apparently they are all shit !

Regrettably, the cock ups they’ve made thus far are going to make it doubly difficult to attract a decent manager. We couldn’t manage it last time around in September and ended up with Appleton; this time, it’s going to be even more difficult, given the club’s instability, its turnover of managers and the fact that we find ourselves in a relegation battle and at our lowest ebb in nearly 100 years.
Any sensible candidate is also going to be asking himself how long Scott and Rodwell are going to maintain the support of the owners, given the way things have gone, especially if the latter conclude that “the project” was oversold to them.

The manager coach can put in a request as to the type of player he would rather like. Scott then checks his 'vast' data base, puts out a few feelers, gets a few checks done and then brings in whoever he feels is the best option within the budgetary constraints at the cheapest price.
The coach has to remain on the grass while Scott justifies his job.
I think we need to give them benefit of the doubt and get behind them.
Anyone can sack two managers in a season, name a club that doesn't.

Exactly this. Unless you're signing for Pep, Klopp or another big name manager i don't think players are ultimately that bothered who they play for, especially at league one level. The vast majority will just go where the money is highest.
We could be managed by Karel Fraeye but if we stuck 20k a week in front of JCH he'd probably sign tomorrow.

If I was the owner I'd be seriously questioning Rodwell and Scott as to 1. how they got it so terribly wrong and 2. why should I trust them to get it right this time around.
