Guy who emailed me back has no clue. Just saying it mustn't be available in my region, FML I was subscribed two weeks ago so it clearly is...
He's probably moved jobs from the fans bar, Ryan.
  •  I’ve been waiting to talk to Tom Rubashow about Charlton TV; it was his idea to arrange it, but after I offered some days and times he didn’t get back to me. When I saw the comments here about the annual subscription not being available to purchase I wondered if he had been stepped on internally because there are some changes coming. However, if subs are being renewed automatically then that clearly isn’t the case, and I just dropped off his radar. I will nudge him and raise the issue during the discussion.
Would be keen to get the bottom of it. I just keep getting the same reply from the same guy which doesn't address the issue.
  • My subscription auto renewed.
  • The stars of Charlton TV, Greg and Terry, are guests of Bromley Addicks on Thursday 11 September.

7.30pm at Petts Wood b Royal British Legion Club BR5 1DH

Free entry and all Addicks welcome
  • Annual pass now available again! If anyone on here got it resolved then thank you, otherwise I'll take credit for sending thirty thousand emails explaining the issue over and over again...
  • Sorry if this has been covered before will the Millwall game be available on Charlton TV, but only in countries that don’t have an arrangement with SKY?

    Thanks

I finally spoke with Tom this afternoon. He said that this season the EFL have got much better at checking that foreign “partners” are actually showing the games they have rights to on any given weekend. The list the Club will publish each Thursday is therefore likely to be fairly accurate.  Unfortunately the Millwall game has the same status as the Leicester one, so relatively more foreign countries may be showing it. But in those countries there is also more chance that a local sport bar will show it. Tom is interested to get info from us about situations where a game appears on the list of geo-Blocked countries, but does not appear in the listings of the Partner TV channel.

He also said that it isnt the EFL’s fault that Terry and Brownie cannot see the live feed when commentating. He said he will try to sort it out with them. All about their laptops and wifi connection, apparently.

And he will pursue the h-t and FT live feed set up so that we can get to see the Crossbar Challenge and Tunnel Jump.

There doesnt seem to be much chance of the Club seeking exemptions for private club feeds from the Sky blackouts. “Exclusive” is the damaging word the EFL have sold the rights to. So no return to full studio for the foreseeable future, as far as he can tell anyway. The money the Club gets from Sky this season is much higher, of course.

If you have an annual pass it seems like you might need a VPN to watch every game then. Unless you live in a country which hasn't got a deal for EFL games even if those that do don't show any! Is that a fair summary?

You can watch every league game live with a VPN.   I always chose Luxemburg as my location on match days.  4-5 years now, never let me down (ExpressVPN).      Works with season or match passes.

There's a reason one of the club's fairly recent sponsors is Nord VPN.     Revenue for the club(s).

And nothing the EFL can do about it.

I've previously voiced my concerns about the 15:00 blackout being scrapped, due to how it would affect mainly non league clubs.  I don't have an answer for that, but if I can't get to a game and have the opportunity to watch live, I will.

Also, there are lots of free VPNs as well, but I haven't tried any, so not sure how stable they are during a match.

DuckDuckGo (browser) are now openly advertising.     Pretty sure they've got one built in, but haven't tried so can't confirm.

    Same here.

  • I changed from Express VPN to Nord recently.  Mainly because Express stopped working and despite hours with their technical support they couldn't sort it out. I got a good 2 year deal for 10 devices with Nord which I paid for upfront. Nord has more features but Express did what you wanted it to do and was less intrusive. When abroad I could watch English TV with Express. I need to try it with Nord but I player works in this country so it is probably fine. There were some issues watching Sky with Express and I need to test it with Nord. Watching Charlton was no problem with both.

One issue with Nord is that LBC and F1 content on you tube detects the VPN where it didn't with Express. Nord has a threat protection feature for websites which Express doesn't have. All in all, you can't really say which one is best but I did like the basicness of Express.

    Excellent.    Thank you @PragueAddick

In my experience, BBC, & SKY in particular, tend to have a handle on the VPNs that others don't.   Often change my VPN to watch something on Netflix only available on some other country/region without issue.    But then I suppose I'm not "taking" anything from NF, so why would they care?
  • I've used the same free vpn for about 5 years and I've had no problems with it.  With the free ones you may have a monthly usage limit - mine is 10Gb which is 2-3 matches.  However it doesn't present a problem.  Just switch it on to sign in, then ...... !
