Sheffield Wednesday - Into Administration (p44)

Ultimately would be a good thing, they'd finally get the points deduction but more importantly someone can step in and stop the club going under6

Who will pay for Barry Bananas hair transplants now?fenaddick said:Ultimately would be a good thing, they'd finally get the points deduction but more importantly someone can step in and stop the club going under3 -

This appears to be the stance most of their fans are taking. Administration is never a good thing but in this case it gets rid of him so the points deduction is a price worth paying for a team that are going down anyway.fenaddick said:Ultimately would be a good thing, they'd finally get the points deduction but more importantly someone can step in and stop the club going under
However..........a separate company of his owns Hillsborough so he'd still retain ownership of that and would be their landlord.3 -
Ben Bloom reporting they are going into admin. today also . What would this actually mean in terms of points?0

Pretty cut and dry it's this one now as it applies straight away, none of that rubbish from 19/20SantaClaus said:1 -
tbh, i dont think it really matters - certainly looks like they will be relegated this season whatever happens.SantaClaus said:1 -

If I was a Wednesday fan, I'd be thinking 'hope it's now'. If it's next season, they could have a double relegation on their hands.Zulu said:

Now confirmed they have filed for administration.0

Regardless of feelings about how Wednesday got away with it before and had no sympathy for us when we were relegated, there are a lot of people now in danger of losing their livelihoods behind the scenes at the club. I’m sure the Club will come out the other end of this and fans will have a team to support, but a lot of the staff will lose their jobs and suffer in the meantime. I don’t wish that part on anyone and wish them only the best.26

Think Chansiri separated the ground from the club also0

Curious why the owner has dragged things out for so long, not accepting any offer, only to then not pay this tax bill.
It'll bring things to a head at least. Wednesday were always going to be relegated anyway, so not the most significant points deduction.3 -
He reportedly turned down 40m in the summer. God only knows what he'll end up getting now.killerandflash said:Curious why the owner has dragged things out for so long, not accepting any offer, only to then not pay this tax bill.

Given Wednesay's plight, we were always competing not to be one of the other two clubs to be relegated. We are by no means safe but who would have thought, at this stage of the season, that we would actually be in the play offs and looking the other way?2

Imagine he'll be holding out for an overly inflated price for Hillsborough. Like someone we know6

Good point. Even if buying the club costs new owners peanuts, he still owns the stadium via a separate company I assume.moutuakilla said:Imagine he'll be holding out for an overly inflated price for Hillsborough. Like someone we know0 -

He will get something as he's listed as a creditor. It won't be much though.Chizz said:

There's reports that 'Sheffield 3' which is the name of Chansiri's company who own the stadium have also gone into administration as well. So not sure if this now means someone can get both the club and the stadium cheaply.0 -
12 point deduction and will be 15 points away from safety. Excellent news for the other 23 clubs in the championship but from a human perspective you have to feel for those innocent members of staff who will possibly be without work cause of the actions of the owner at that football club11

As a football fan I feel for them, and the group up where I was were clapping their players off due to this fact.shirty5 said:12 point deduction and will be 15 points away from safety. The reason that BB is one of their most loyal players doesn’t help matters.
From a Charlton perspective this has written off any grief I’ve had about them (from my experience) so I move on from that (especially after the season we have been having)!0 -
There but for the grace of god.I hope this is the dark moment before the dawn for Wednesday.Although I still hope Bannan doesn’t get paid.3

We should be the bigger and better club/fans here - just because some of the fans and BB have been tossers about our own previous predicaments doesn’t mean we should be like that to them.No fans or players deserve this kind of treatment. Hurl contempt at Chansiri for his actions or the FA for not having enough teeth to deal with this kind of situation formally.10 -
Glad he’s also put the stadium company into admin, just hope the administrators are sensible and sell the assets and club together1

If they aren’t I won’t be surprised if there will be government intervention on that.fenaddick said:Glad he’s also put the stadium company into admin, just hope the administrators are sensible and sell the assets and club together1
