World record crowd for a women's game

https://news.sky.com/story/volleyball-match-in-nebraska-breaks-all-time-record-for-attendance-at-womens-sport-event-12951681

Quite remarkable that 92,000 people should turn up for a women's college volleyball game.  (And that they have sold out their previous 306 matches.  Not to mention that the game was played in a stadium that regularly sells out for its college American Football games.)

When compared to the three hundred that turned up to watch last season's play-off match at the Valley for the U18s against Sheffield Utd - a cracking match by the way - we've got to be doing something wrong haven't we?

    Not really.

College sport in US is massive.

They actively set out to break the record and even cancelled classes for the day.

That said it equates to around 5% of the states population and sure I read once that when they fill it out for American football the stadium is the third largest city/town in the state.
