    I'd hope it wouldn't come to that. Only saving grace currently is that Ahadme & Godden haven't had much game time, with Jones preferring Campbell up top instead. Time will tell though.

    We also didn't sign your namesake until the middle of September and he only played 10 minutes in total in the first 9 League games demonstrating that as long as the bulk of signings are made pre-season (we'd signed a dozen of them) you can allow yourself the opportunity to make one or two more influential ones once you've established where they are needed.

    Obviously supposedly more players being looked at but this looks like the best planned preseason we’ve had for a while. I’ve posted elsewhere that Saturday’s game at Wimbledon, with hopefully a good turnout from Charlton fans to encourage the players, should be treated as the ‘last’ preseason friendly match and the Pompey home game the following week should be treated as the first game of the season so that we hit the ground running against Wigan and don’t have that bewildered first day back at school look about us that most teams have on day 1 of a new season.

    hit the ground running against Wigan and don’t have that bewildered first day back at school look about us that most teams have on day 1 of a new season.
    We usually have that look about us for the first half of the season.

    Probably , and yes it is exhausting , he's gone people , forget about him (until we buy him back in January for 2 million, when Birmingham gets points deducted for FFP).
