Brilliant news. I'm sure he could have got more money on a free at the end of the season, so credit to him. Just goes to show that not all players follow the pounds.
I'll put my hands up and say I wasn't sure on him. The injury history concerned me, and I didn't think he was too impressive when he played last season, but he's been an absolute monster this season and quite literally everything I want from a centre back at Charlton. I genuinely think he might be the best we have had since we left the Prem, or there is at least a debate for it.
If I'm being greedy, I'd have like to see him sign a 3 or 4 year deal, but I am still happy he's staying for at least 2 more seasons.
Congrats Lloydy, well earned and a proper fan favourite 👍🏻
Excellent media management annoucing it at the game.
Very good news too.
Credit to the management team for making it happen.
Actually disagree with this. Announcing it at the game is good. Announcing it less than 10 mins before kick off meant a lot of people missed it. We have a habit of announcing contracts on game days (Bowyer and Anderson stick in the mind for some reason) which I like but I think you need to do it a decent time before

How? Even if you weren't at your seats, you would be told by the people sitting next to you.

And it was on social media straight away.
I meant on social media (should have made that clearer). There’s usually a lot of social media activity in the hour before a game so I think it got missed. Saw lots of people commenting in various places after the game that they had no idea he’d signed
Thing that stands out most from that is on it he is mentally. Doesn't seem to ever take a second out of the game, as soon as h'e completed one action he's thinking about the next

Well done as well to whoever got it done.
How times change.

I expect he’s one of our higher earners now, and before he might have been closer to the middle.
Far more influential than, say, Aneke, who is (allegedly) another on big wages...
