He is out of contract in the summer and our owners sold a stand out player for relative buttons to a team in L1 last season so would not surprise me at all. I have faith that Scott would reinvest any money well.

Talks are going on with Jones he won’t be leaving in January .. take it you mean a player we turned down two bids for once he handed in a transfer request we got a very good price..900,000 .

Felt like his presence made a big difference to our defensive solidity today.
Yeah he was a real difference maker and it was noticeable how much he had a go at MG and AM when they messed up. Also stepped up well to play a Lincoln striker offside too
Given that Lloyd Jones has only got a two year contract, you’d have expected the club to have at least tried to negotiate a one year additional option. Maybe they did, who knows.
Given that the team is going nowhere this season, I suspect that Lloyd will let the contract run down and have a look at his options elsewhere.

If we have ambitions of getting up next season then we need to plan now to keep Lloyd Jones.
Unless his contract demands are wildly excessive then I don’t think we’ll be attracting a better player in his position (especially one that doesn’t have a transfer fee attached). Make him a good offer reflective of his status as our best player and let’s avoid a drawn out saga that we’ve all seen 100 times before and normally ends in a player we want to, and could, keep leaving us.

Absolutely correct - unless we want to become a League 1 fixture for the long term, we must hang on to our best players.
Given what's happened under the current regime - Dobbo being the paradigm example - how much confidence can we realistically have that this will happen, particularly given the side's mediocrity ?

We’re already a league 1 fixture and next season have potential to be THE league 1 fixture with the longest current run.
It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a club option to extend by 12 months there usually has been in recent years. We usually activate it when we can’t agree a new contract like happened with CBT, Small and Leaburn.

Piss poor journalism
1 clean sheet (against the dismal Burton) in 7 games when he was missing
Lets have a look at 2017-18 Luton squad and find out.

7 games without him, 1 clean sheet. (Burton)
