  • Wayne Rooney and even the clubs he manages become Wayne Rooney's Plymouth etc.
  • Bobby Charlton
  • Pedro Porro
  • Bernardo Silva
This one makes sense btw as when he started they also have David Silva. Plus Portuguese/Brazilian names are a bit exempt as they tend to be a shortened version already
  • To say Alfie May is correct as 'May' on its own is a modal verb and can lead to confusion ✅

To Say Ben White is correct as not only is his name only two syllables but 'White' on its own is a noun or if you say white bread, an adjective.✅

To say Pedro Porro is alliteration and rolls off the tongue. ✅

To say Soapbox Sam soars like a salmon to score  sublimely is Sibilance and poetry to my ears✅

To just say 'Fred' is wrong when the ex Man united plays name is Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos.
    Pele he ain't ❌
  • Or by their first and half their surname, e.g. Trent Alexander or Cory Blackett (hello Curbs!)
Don’t mind that but it does annoy me when people just use the first name e.g. ’Trent’. I can never understand why Charlton fans say ’Roland’ , like he’s our old friendly pal.
