With our season officially over there's clearly nothing much going on at the club to hold our interest for the next month or so. With that in mind, I thought I'd share some alternative nicknames for our city neighbours. I'm not happy with all of them so please chip in with better suggestions.

Arsenal – The Flip Flops

That Arteta is useless. Manager for Life! That Arteta is useless.

 

Brentford – The Doing A Brentford

See Doing A Fulham, Doing A Charlton, Doing A Bradford etc etc

 

Chelsea – The Nouveau Poor

We don’t need Russian money to be successful.

 

Crystal Palace – The Needy

Look at our shirts! Just like Barcelona! Look at our fans! Just like Italian Ultras!

 

Fulham – The Nice

I’ve got literally nothing.

 

Millwall – The Scrap

Scrapyards and scrapping

 

QPR – The Apostrophe

Queen’s Park or Queens Park? 

 

Spurs – The Victims

Why hasn’t Levy bought us a trophy yet? Wah, wah, wah.

 

Watford – The Not In London

Watford is not in London.

 

West Ham – The Remainers

Should have stayed at the Boleyn. Much better in Europe.

 

Charlton Athletic – The Gutted

The fans. The club.

 

Not that happy with Palace. Was going to go with The Virgins because of their past shirt sponsorship but it seemed a bit cruel. Virgins get enough stick without having to put up with that association as well. 

As for our nearest non-rivals, I always thought The Scrapyard would have been a better name for their ground.

    FIFA have a nickname that you can assign to your team for online games, and one of them is Hardly Athletic, so I use that with the Charlton badge and kits

    Crystal Palace always seem like ‘plastics’ to me, or to modernise, a set up created by a 3-D printer from some kind of sludge mould.
