    Bands have been playing at the Apollo instead and while i am a fan, Brixton is far superior. 

    I've seen both hot up-coming bands and global brands play there. I don't recall seeing a single issue in 25 years worth of gigs. Who was to blame for the deaths? Selfish idiots who turned up without tickets and forced their way in. Not the police or the security at the venue. 
    Totally agree with the first bit, not so sure about the last bit highlighted. There are stories doing the round that the security were openly taking cash bungs to let people in. Obviously I have no idea if that's true, but something went drastically wrong for people to die.

    Not sure why they should. 
    One event is in an enclosed building. 
    The other is an open air event.

    The trouble is they knew this was probable because I saw adverts for the gig, which included a warning of do not turn up without a ticket.

    Detectives investigating the crush at the O2 Academy Brixton have released images of people they would like to identify. The incident took place on Friday, December 15, 2022 and 33-year-old Rebecca Ikumelo and 23-year-old Gaby Hutchinson lost their lives.

    Brixton is not a bad night out tbf.

    The Beehive is one of the more atmospheric Wetherspoons.

    I see they're not taking any chances with their first 2 evenings, both featuring tribute acts, there shouldn't be any trouble from the middle aged audience there...

    Had many great nights at the academy, never seen any kind of problem. Probably the worst behaviour was people climbing on the bar to dance at the Pogues concerts (& getting pushed off by the bar staff :D ). I guess certain acts bring a certain kind of people ?
