He had insurance, but they won't pay out as he didn't fully disclose existing medical conditions.
Just seen this thread and glad to see he is home, wishing him a speedy recovery and hope he's back at a game soon.
It is an important reminder to make sure you have valid, comprehensive travel insurance (i.e. declare conditions etc. otherwise you might not be covered). So many people think it won't happen to them, but when it does, it is devastating for them and friends and family and really not worth the risk
