Away turn outs next season?

edited August 2007 in General Charlton
I think away turn outs next season will improve, and i fancied putting it to the vote, who else thinks this? The reason i think it will improve is because the new place to go to will get cafc's fans blood pumping again. With this in mind as long as we don't sell out away allocation the atmospheres should also better. Because, and i dont know why, when ever we sell out away from home the atmospheres seem to get worse.

  • Lot of new grounds, cheaper tickets, more likely to win more games than we lose means away turn outs will definitely be up
  • For sure
  • More local games but still day out games like Ipswich etc.

    Rather that than bloody Bolton.

After Stoke we should sell out the next 3 away games - Palace, Col U and Coventry
  • Will definitely grow, new grounds and old faces!! a majority on this board cut their teeth in this division (do we still say division?)
  • I'm doing as many away games as possible, so far I've inked in 12 :-)
I might get to join the clique - will you accept me?

Not sure about Cardiff away though!
  • depends how many get arrested and banned at Palace !
  • How about Swindon away for the League Cup?
I'm going to buy tickets next Saturday before the Scunny match, I don't think I need to do it in advance, do I?

Ha! Hopefully they don't start singing "one fan, they've only got one fan" to the away section, do they :-)
It's part of my week of vacation in England and we can combine it with touristy things in Bath that day.
  • What new grounds...? for me and for the some of the old timers its a case of revisiting.

  • unless we get off to a flyer i can't see it improving.
everyone 'doing a new ground' will be out numbered by the ones not going because they only went because it was liverpool, arsenal, man utd etc.

where's oohahh? strange he's not commented yet. should we have a collection?
  • Colchester, Scunthorpe, Blackpool, Coventry, Hull are going to be new to many off the top of my head. Many won't have been to Preston and Cardiff
  • Dutch, I will be at Swindon, so there will be two of us.

"Two fans, they only got two fans!"

    :-)
  • our away turn outs will be reasonable, at best, by charlton standards but if we don't get off to a flyer i can see us bringing the usual abysmal followings that we have always had in the second tier
  • Dutch - I understand New York Addick is going and I am trying to rejig my flights so I can go too. Well that will be 3 overseas Addicks. Any from nearer to home or aren't they running Valley Express?
