Bury, Gigg Lane may be another 🤷♂️paulbaconsarnie said:Layer Road, Colchester

Underhill, Barnet
Ninian Park, Cardiff
Twerton Park, Bristol Rovers
Victoria Ground, Stoke
Vetchfield, Swansea (not with cafc)
Leeds Road, Huddersfield (not with cafc)
away days were all a bit of a blur back in the day so there’s also a few I attended but not sure if more than once. They are;
Boothferry Park Hull convinced I’ve been more than once but can only recall a 2-2 draw with all goals coming late.
Burnden Park, Bolton can only remember the 5-1 drubbing in the last game there.
Roker Park, Sunderland can only remember a 2-1 win with David white scoring.
Ayersome Park, Middlesbrough can only remember Catons last ditch Penalty followed by trying to escape certain death.0 -
Oh yeah definitely.oohaahmortimer said:

Another messy one where either you or Si thought it was full time when the half time whistle went.1 -

It may have been both but i remember questioning the steward as to why they were holding us back at the end of the match and he answered cos it was half time ...paulbaconsarnie said:

First game of season 3-0 victory over Cardiff City , asked Tom Morris for some photos of this game. He didn’t attend this match one of the very few he missed.Curbsgoldenera said:Wow this thread is bringing back memories.
Lots of the above grounds mentioned with my Dad, he would bundle us three kids in the car and drive the length and breadth of the country on away days.
He is no longer with us but thanks to him I’ve done loads of the grounds mentioned.
Notable memories include a hat trick at Ninian Park by Derek Hales, I think and bizarrely picking up a Sunderland fan hitch hiking up to Roker Park somewhere on route on a motorway or at a motorway services.
The away days with Dad were by far and away my best memories of him.
I went with a friend who’s mothers cousin played for Wales. Guess what Cardiff Arms Park mistaken for Ninian Park.
We saw the match in the end.0 -

That was my longest gap between wanting to go back. I went in Dec 92, and hadn’t been back since. I planned on going back there in April 2020 before they left, but of course Covid, so I never got to go backWheresmeticket? said:Griffin Park. That was a great ground.0 -
Roker Park AUG 1962. Lost 1-0. From memory Brian Clough scored. As my parents took me to Oz in Apr 63, I could never go back. Still got the program.1

If we're talking just the once for a Charlton away game, then Highbury, Baseball Ground, Victoria Ground, Griffin Park, Plough Lane, Upton Park, WHL, Bristol Rovers ground before the current one, Filbert St,0

Just once with Charlton: Griffin Park, Underhill, Gigg Lane (it may reopen of course), Victoria Stadium (closed in 2012, three years after Northwich Victoria beat us in the cup), Goodison Park (eventually)More than once with Charlton: Highbury, White Hart Lane, Upton Park
Just once in non-league: Claremont Road (Hendon), Ship Lane (Thurrock), Leyton Stadium (Leyton FC - abandoned since 2011, due for redevelopment), Wheatsheaf Lane (Staines Town - abandoned last year, future uncertain)Also been once to Edgar Street (Hereford United, with Charlton) and Westhumble (Dorking Wanderers), and loads of times to Kingsmeadow (both Wimbledon and Kingstonian) - could go back, but different teams play there now.1 -
