Charters bar which is a barge on the river is the most convenient place. Just a short 5 minute walk to the stadium. Oakham beer on sale which is good and there was plenty of Charlton in there when we played before. Should still be fine for away fans.

  • I wonder what tune that DJ is banging out?
  • Went into the Queen's Head before and after our 4-1 hammering a few years ago. Decent beer and pizzas, and not too far from the ground.
Recommended assuming it hasn't changed too much.
  • Out of town coalheavers arms is a good one but it's small and homely with a garden area. Probably best if coming by car as it's south of everything. Can't explain how I ended up in here a few years ago.

One to avoid is the Peacock close to the ground as it faster and livelier. I don't really like avoiding any pub on principle so I popped in for a late one which felt like a safe time to try it.
  • I would also recommend Charters. For those arriving early by train there is the Brewery Tap opposite Waitrose next to the station. Real ales and reasonably priced Thai food.
  • There are also two Wetherspoons. One is decent, that's the Drapers Arms which isn't far from the station and the College Arms which is a dump.

This is the one. One of the best pubs in the football league IMO

Coalheavers is a dump. Charters is best pub near the ground, they've extended the beer garden and it's bloody massive now. Queens head also a good shout and the brewery tap across road from station. The ostrich as well if you like your ale/IPA.

Just in case the weather is inclement there are a couple of covered areas in the beer garden and old storage containers turned into seating areas along with an outside bar...
