Neil Warnock and Sheffield United

I know that Colin W==ker is not everyone's cup of tea and can be a bit of an arse but does anyone else agree that Sean Bean and the Blades chairman are well out of line for the way they have treated him in the press (see The Sun today)? I mean, the bloke got them up to the Premiership with not much cash and very nearly kept them up despite the fact they lost their best striker in Rob Hulse at a crucial stage of the season.

For mine they should be a lot more gracious to Warnock because he did a great job for a middling club that does not have huge resources or a history of success and I have not seen him bad mouth the club at all.

The irony is that they have just appointed an absolute clown in Bryan Robson and are about to find out the difference between a decent manager and a big name who is a poor manager.

  • 100% spot on Ormy. I actually think warnock is ok.
  • I like him too, he has his moments but I think he is a pretty genuine guy who does not hide behind meaningless platitudes like so many of them do these days. The Blades are mad not to re-appoint him because he would have got them back up first time IMO whereas Robson will re-build the side and probably feck it up.
  • nasty orrible bloke who would go all smarmy in front of the cameras... i mean if someone as nice as nigel worthington say's he's a cnut then he really is a top class one
  • he's an idiot, but an entertaining one.

And the game is a lot more fun with entertaining idiots involved.

He'll be the next Palace manager when Tayler gets the boot in November, and then it will start getting interesting !!
  • Tell you what AFKA, I know you are half jesting but I hope he does not ever end up at Palace because he'd be a top bet to get them into the Prem, albeit for only one season!!!

He has a very, very good record in Tier 2, not many have better.
  • I'm not jesting Ormy !
  • after the sheff utd game last season HE came out seperately from the team and stood in the car park for ages talking to the kids and signing stuff and even ended up having a "discussion" about football with some CAFC fans.

The bloke was a diamond and totally different from what you see on the touchline.

admittedly he has been a donut over the years but he's a fan -if we were manager of CAFC we'd probably be the same

As for Sean Bean he's a bloody disgrace - just because he's got a few bob and done a few films what right does it give him.
