It's exceptionally rare for me to pass comment on CL but would also like to echo thanks towards CAST and @Weegie Addick and other CAST members for organising Mondays meeting.
The one real thing that has progressively irked me is the entitled nature of people to dig out others that they don't happen to agree with......for whatever reason. There seems to be an increasing amount of baiting of fellow Addicks.......mainly on Twitter it has to be said, this being a reason to pop my head up. I'm not a CAST member but yet an opportunity was given to sit on their panel. It seems that it isn't just me who thinks that a united approach is an enhanced one!
What has been strikingly clear over a number of months is that Sandgaard is struggling with the 'easy game' and things are going shit coloured rapidly. Cue then the latest pronouncement of spending in the January window. No doubt a dual pronged approach to appease supporters and attempt to dig us out of potentially our worst league positioning in a lot of peoples memory.
Is Sandgaard selling the club? Who to? What's Varney up to? Why does it take weeks to appoint a manager ......will they be in post longer than it takes to recruit? What other alternatives to Sandgaard's tenure are there? Can Sandgaard regain peoples trust? Should supporters be protesting?
Perhaps just a few variables that are currently doing the rounds.
The fan based does not agree on anything (maybe TS out) and so I wonder how a decision would be made as to what the fans actually wanted. The two sides of the debate on the importance of a successful women's team to the Charlton family is an example.
It’s a non starter. You only have to look at the reaction to Monday evening to know there is a split in the fanbase.
This is not a new thing. It’s been going on for decades.
Would make the protests interesting. Fans lobbing plastic pigs and taxis at each other in the stands telling each other to get out of the club etc
The outcome of the Woolwich meeting (Feb 2015) was for CAST to continue to pursue dialogue with Duchatelet. Protests in the west stand car park began towards the end of the year - Nov/ Dec I think. CARD then formed and in-match protests started from Middlesbrough in March 2016. CAST met with Murray and Meire in April with a new mandate from fans to say we wanted RD to sell.
Think people including our greatly respected leader (certainly hugely respected by me anyway) are being a tad harsh on CAST.
The meeting was timely and expertly arranged, chaired and managed. Hard to get a consensus with 550 via zoom, but as I recall the votes were roughly 80%+ in favour of moving forward on questions for tomorrow and the charter. That's really healthy and I don't want the vocal minority to be heard above the silent majority as seems to happen in all walks of life.
I see tomorrow as crucial. If Sandgaard doesn't turn up or we hear more rheotric, then clearly CAST will ramp up the campaign to oust Sandgaard and alert the national media to our ongoing plight. Personally for £5 a year it is money extremely well spent.
Speaking as Chairman of a tennis club, who has worked tirelessly as an unpaid volunteer to turn it around in the last three years, criticism is always disappointing when others cannot see the bigger picture. Maybe some should apply to join the board of CAST.

As we reportedly go into another change of hands,would it not be prudent to have some high level of fan participation and engagement in the process? We again find our destiny in the Hands of egotistical and frankly unhinged characters that quite clearly only have their own interests at the heart of every decision and action they continue take with OUR club. We hear this morning that there are apparently 4 offers on the table. The offer that is in the best interests of the club will not be considered if it stands in the way of their own personal financial gain. Do you really trust the likes of Sandgaard and Duchatelet to do right by us for once? If you do, then let the circus roll on to another bunch of clowns. If you dont, then put silly squabbles aside. Unite and put this football club first for a change.
The charter idea is excellent Possibly with some refinement. The meeting was handled very well throughout, although at 9:40 pm, I left it because it was dragging. If we can all agree on that charter, which essentially describes what we expect from the custodian of Charlton football club Then yes, any new custodian (owner) will already know what he or she or they are/is getting into. I don’t know how the fans partly owning a football club Will affect the Saleability of the club? I doubt very much whether we could afford a majority stake in the club, and what if it continues to lose money do we need to ask the fan base for more money? Other clubs seem to have good owners, which supposes that Charlton could have a good owner one day. I think Varney Is probably the best person to go and see with the charter and see what he thinks. You need somebody like him to go and find a new owner. I think Thursday’s meeting is simply going through the motions, and obviously Thomas will be affected by the fans disappointment with the current situation. I remember during a game at home during lockdown when some fans were allowed and he came onto the pitch to be interviewed in front of the East stand. He really does like the attention, and dare I say it, adulation. Remove that, and he is unlikely to enjoy being in the limelight at Charlton. What action he may take as a result of fans showing the dissatisfaction is an unknown, but I don’t think we should be frightened of this.

Tbh he’d have to be pretty bloody thick if he hasn’t worked that one out already.
But CAST as a collective have to be seen at least to be a tad more professional. Especially if there are new owner/s in the pipeline.
